Sporty Forty.e t

Only a 45min cycle in the end - blew myself up trying to keep up with hubby! (Having a pesky cold might have had something to do with it!)
Hope soon better @Bebo321. Feet up doing chair exercises for a few days? you could always watch Le Tour whlist doing some foot tapping.

Thank you.
I drink: black tea or coffee, water and a little white wine at week ends.
Brekkie: 2 97% meat sausages and a poached egg
Lunch: 2 baby bels
Snack: handful of peanuts
Dinner: salad, greens, lentils and fish or meat.
Sometimes quiche, bean bake or fish soup
Dessert: LCHF ice cream or choc mug cake - twice a week.
Choccie: 3 squares of green and blacks dark.
Not huge amounts of fat! Don't eat huge platefuls either.

All I can see on there that might be an issue is the sausages really as the rest seems ok. Maybe you are just unlucky and need to cut out the LCHF ice cream and mug cake as well and just have berries and yogurt instead? Does anyone else in your family have cholesterol issues as sometimes it is familial. My friend's husband has just been told he may need statins in near future and he is thin, exercises regularly, eats healthily. Our vet was a triathlete and his was very high at 30 so it can just be luck of the gene draw. Hopefully the meds will help lower it for you.

Lol! Got the TeamBG cycle ride around Box Hill on Sunday, so rest day tomorrow me thinks (though a few chair exercises may be in order!);)

20 mins on bike. 15 mins brisk walk and I will try and squeeze something in to cover last 5 mins later.

How about those sausages? From a good butcher or commercial brand? decent farm shop good quality sausages would have better quality meat, and less cereal and fat in them. just a thought, I know they are more expensive, but I buy less of the expensive stuff and have smaller portions, just increase the veg portion to make up the volume of grub.

Apart from the sausages, I don't eat red meat. I mostly eat salmon, sea bass, chicken breast, salad, green veggies, bean bake, lentils and crust less crab quiche. I don't have huge portions. Baby bel x2 at lunch plus a handful of peanuts and dessert (either mug cake or my ice cream) twice a week.my salads consist of cucumber, cherry toms, olives, avocado, peppers and feta.
Am going to carry on as normal, take the statins and see if there's a difference. If not, I'm not going to continue with the statins as no point.
By the way, I am also thankful to this website and the very lovely people on it! We are the lucky ones so don't be sad!
Well it seems you eat a very healthy diet! It was just the sausage and ice cream that I remembered but I don't read all the threads.

Let's hope the statins do their job. :-)

Yes it was. I even have some Internet access today, so checking on my cyber mates.
Hope you are feeling good.
No. Just been really silly. Stressful few days at work, went to kid fete, ate 1/3 of muffin and 1/2 mini fudge. Got home and opened family bag of crisps. Got bowlful and small glass of wine. Bs 8.5, 7.8, 8.5, 8.3. Really silly. Feel slightly tipsy. Now cooking pizza for kids. Went to cook crab pie but what I thought was crab turned out to be water chestnuts!

Probably bloody mother. (I love her loads but that side of family is a genetic nightmare! She has cholestrol issues. It was only recently that she thought to tell me that my grandfathers family were all type 1. And high blood pressure.)
:(

Aw Sorry,@connie104 I do go on about swimming and pool exercise as it is the only sort that doesn't hurt me to do. Also I stayed away from the pool for 15 years because I was stressed, busy, putting other people first with no time for me, and also very self conscious of being the fattest person in there. never again will I allow that to happen to me.

I wonder how many other people think they are also the fattest person in the pool.

The ice cream is just frozen berries mixed with cream! Twice a week! If I have mug cake then don't have a portion of ice cream! :(

I did chuckle at that. I just wish mine had never married as mother's lot have T2, high BP, glaucoma and mental health issues and dad's lot have cancer and heart issues- lucky me I seem to have got covered all the major disease groups.

Just back from a 40 minute stroll up a hill. I had to get out of my house because my family are driving me nuts . They are so negative sometimes and can't see what they have for missing what they haven't. ... ¥₩~>`÷<`¡¡|▼:-)↑↓↓ # going to scream ..lol

...oh for a vat of wine :p @Scandichic I don't think any of us would be able to stick to our diabetic regimes if we didn't break out once in a while, we'd be climbing the walls...but hey that could be a new form of exercise...

..there's no diabetes in my family, not a single one of them as far back as I can tell, lucky buggers.....when I was mid thirties to mid forties i used to drink gallons of coke and not the diet kind, I put it down to that, there's nothing else I can think of, never had a particularly sweet tooth apart from that...until I was told I had T2, then I craved sweet stuff, all in the mind with me...

....met a friend for a coffee and catchup at lunchtime so only had twenty minutes walk there and back, so a bit more to do this evening to meet my sporty forty target..

My gran and dad were type 2. I always had a sweet tooth ...mmm chocolates

...it was interesting reading what a couple of you eat, yes I'm diabetes obsessed too aren't we all lol, what does everyone else eat on a typical day...? I find I've become very boring with my food as I tend to eat the same old things, maybe its work and not wanting to cook much when I get home, I don't know..

Breakfast is often a small natural yoghurt with some strawberries or cherries..100ml V8 veggie juice and a coffee

Lunch a homemade sandwich which I make before work, often egg or cheese or ham ~ almost always with Livlife bread, as only 3.8g carbs per slice, very filling....

Dinner often a chicken breast, or quorn sausages with lots of veg and a bit of gravy or sauce..

I don't snack in the day but evenings I always feel hungry, love cheesstrings or babybels with walnuts or brazils...

Breakfast is natural yoghurt with berries and a sprinkle of seeds.
Lunch is a salad with coronation chicken ( I love coronation chicken).
Tea ( after my exercise/ activity) is usually something with a lower carb side eg meat , bolognaise, chilli .
I just try and not have bread etc very much.
I have found that I can have a bit more now I have my weight under control and am more active.

Oh and I have a little bit of chocolate about 9pm

@Pollylocks if you look at low carb forum there's a what have you eaten today thread that might give you some fresh ideas.

I tend to have a cooked breakfast with quorn sausages , lean bacon or turkey rashers and mushrooms, occasionally an egg.
Lunch is something with salad , tuna and feta is my favourite.
Dinner roast dinner with cauli cheese and green veg; curry with cauli curry and salad ; chiili; bolognaise sauce with courgette pasta; thai curry with stir fried broccoli and pak choi; moussaka ; faijtas with lettuce wraps
