Di - did you test an hour and two hours after scoffing the cherries? They are supposed to be diabetic friendly in moderation. X

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

Thanks @Debmcgee. I tested my fasting BS at 6.30am this morning before any food or drink,. I had the cherries last night after my supper. I thought they were okay too. I suppose it depends on our definition of moderation :)

You can't rule out the cherries until you test before and one and two hours later to determine your spike. The morning fasting level may not be anything to do with the cherries.

I've tested everything I eat to develop my own tailored good plan that keeps my BG low during the day. I ****** up my fasting test through late feasts and probably overdosing on dairy products so that's what I need to reduce in order to bring my fasting BG down to the 5s again.

It's such a big learning curve but testing everything and counting carbs is worth the effort.

Overwhelming isn't it? I've come through it now on the other side so I'm more relaxed about stuff.

And don't forget stress! That had amazing impacts on my fasting BG!!!

5.8 this morning but I tested when I came downstairs after getting up, weighing myself and looking t my laptop for a bit. I had also been lying in bed awake for a while.

6.2 again - when will I ever learn to get up and measure it when I first wake up not hours of dozing later. I felt so rough this morning as woke in massive panic and had obviously lain badly all night as shoulder screaming at me again. Will have ti take Mr E with me to Asda so imagine BS will be up all day ;-)

Diana, I can't imagine it was the cherries. They would have long gone from your system over night unless you ate them with loads of double cream, in which case it's a possibility.

6.3 on going to bed last night - 3 hours after evening meal that had a lot of fat, (6.8 at 2 hours.)
5.9 this morning.
Still higher than average, but delighted to see 4.9 before my evening meal - first 4 since the hot weather.

4.3 for me this morning. That's mid/upper range for me, but I did have mashed potato yesterday evening. That said, I was 4.5 after 2 hours.

Today is shaping up to be hot, hot, hot, so we must make sure we're keeping our fluids up.

Hi @Bluetit1802 Absolutely no cream with the cherries! Just a handful as a treat while watching the TV.

Most likely stress. I made a 200 mile road trip yesterday in the heat, skipped a meal and then had to deal with some stressful legal letters when I got back.

Thanks for the helpful support. Hoping to be back on track with tomorrow's reading

I had 4.3. Had an hour of walking after dinner which brought the sugars down at bedtime.
After breakfast I started to have blurred vision on my left eye, and had it checked out, finding out that I have increased ocular pressure...The docs are investigating and they're thinking it's glaucoma. :( so had a lot of tests, was in the hospital the whole day,not a good day. Good that we had our guests this evening coming from America and kept us company at dinner, kept my mind off things for awhile :)
