What's your number?

As a non diabetic but carb intolerant ideal is 4.1! I try to keep between 4 & 6 throughout. All the time. Not that I do!
Don't eat anything over 7 again. That's after 2 hours!

I like to be in the mid 4s before eating and 6 or below 2 hrs after, very rarely eat something I shouldn't as I don't avoid any foods I like to eat, just watch my portions, I find this keeps me on plan although I do occasionally dangle a leg off the wagon, on the rare times this happens I am usually in the mid 7s so not so bad in the big scheme of things but I prefer not to see those 7s!

I like your avatar @douglas99! *ok sign for divers*

4 to 5 out of bed :)

2 hours post eating I'm happy when it's below 5.5 but if not, i do a quick 10 min walk.

The occasional restaurant dinners/parties aka "my DIY glucose tolerance test :p" which i enjoy anyway (and I try to be good most of the time, only occasional) I have a leeway til 10. And I usually pick the "less sinful dishes" lol....I do get it sometimes, But I try not to reach 10. I'm happy when its only 8. It's tricky when you're at a restaurant! But all meals prepared at home never reach those numbers, rarely.

waking ideally 4.5-5.5
Pre meal - sub 6
post meal - sub 8 at 2 hours

Pre exercise - sub 10
during exercise >5

Fasting is between 6-6.8 but rises to 7s with heat. :(
Happy with pre prandial which is normally somewhere in 5s by mid morning.
Goes up to 7.5 directly after meal and gradually goes down to 6.
Don't like it to go above 7.5 after food. Hence no take out.

Fasting happy with mid to low 5's
Pre-meal happy with low 5's
1 hour after I usually ignore as long as I am significantly on the way down at 2 hours, but hopefully under mid 7's as a max
2 hours after high 6's to 7
Bedtime under 6
Occasional naughty meal happy with under 7.8 at 2 hours

On waking: I get the hand I'm dealt (dawn phenomenon)

Pre meal: under 6 is ok, under 5.5 is better

2 hrs after food: I aim for under 6.6 but rarely hit it. Content with under 7. Unhappy with 8+

i would like to be under 8 but for me at the moment i,m around 11.2 before meals and 16.4 two hours after eating

Honestly, if I were you I would see the dr about some meds for now. It's going to be a lot easier when your BG is under control, to get your insulin resistance down and get some weight off..
When your BG is up your liver is just laying it down as fat and you are still hungry ecause the cells can't get the glucose into them

Fasting I get whatever I get depending on night panics.
Pre prandial usually in low to mid fives, occasional mid to high 4s
Post prandial under 6.5 at 2hrs

Was getting more mid to high 4s pre-prandial but since upping exercise mainly in low fives and I find the rise post eating not as high as it was when I was in 4s.

jack412, i,m already on two meds. pre tea 14.5 two hours later 29.8
i,m going to ring the surgery tomorrow

What did you eat at tea Ally? That's quite a jump.

i had a spoonfull of rice and half a tin of chicken curry and 5 pieces of pineapple.

Possibly chicken curry bad too.. It's just the sort of thing they'd stuff full of sugar...

What does the nutritional info say on the side of the tin Ally? The Carbohydrates figure...
