Yes, but the description says that the sensor stores and transmits 8hs worth of data whenever you scan it with the meter, which means that you could get a whole day's coverage by scanning the sensor every 8h - are you saying that this is incorrect? From Abbot's homepage:
"With every scan you get your current glucose reading, the last 8 hours of glucose and an arrow showing the direction your glucose is heading."
Do you know what it's going to cost (roughly)?it give you a reading wheneve you scan the meter over the sensor. Its not CGM
I mentioned the cost of test strips as most diabetics get at least 200 stips per month which should work out the same or even less than 2 sensors per month PLUS you get more readings. Stores up to 90 days of glucose data
-Provides a complete glucose picture over 3 months - Take the AGP interactive tour on the home link
I know as I did a trial
You are such a tease! I don't wanna get my hopes up that this might be something I could afford, only to have them dashed.Im not allowed to say anymore than what is said on the website. Its going to be the best product on the market when its released and will be on sale online initially. Thats all folks.
The AGP is amazing. I hope that all diabetes specialists and teams start working with AGP.
I thought I read somewhere that the sensor needs to be kind of "implanted" under the skin in local anesthetic by a medical professional? Is that correct?
How's with the accuracy compared to BG tests and CGM (since its also using the interstitial fluid)?
If this comes out at a reasonable cost, I'm in. Just think what it could do for diabetics who are into sport, no more stopping for a finger-prick test, just wave the doofer over the whatsit and have a look while carrying on, back to true eating on the run.
I have a vague recollection that I read somewhere (don't ask me where) that this would be priced at around the cost of a heavy user of strips - like equivalent to 300 strips/month. Might only have been speculation from a review or something.
Maybe my GP will stump up if I up my strip usage a bitIn that case we can only hope it's the same cost as the SD Codefree strips Robert![]()
