2014/15 Football Season

Well Blackpool's new manager (Jose Riga, late of Charlton) has come out of the woodwork, spoken to the press, and told Karl Oyston (Chairman) to do his job properly. It needed saying. Riga can't manage a football team with the few players we have, not even enough senior players to fill the subs bench, and most of them on loan only. It also seems we haven't got a fitness coach. It's a poor do.

It's not right, the fans who pay their hard earned money every week deserve better. I read that players were being signed on Saturday morning which is ridiculous

Heres a shock it seems Sheff utd are keen to take that Ched Evans back after he was jailed for rape and his time has been halved and he will be out by september. They must be bloody desparate is all i can say but the fans want him back too

Yes, they were signed on the Saturday morning but couldn't play as the paper work mysteriously vanished. There were just 7 or 8 senior players pre-season, meaning not enough to play the arranged friendlies, so they were cancelled, as was the training session in Spain. There wasn't a goal keeper of any description until just before the first match. So no pre-season warm ups, none of them played together as a team before, and poor Riga tearing his hair out because Karl Oyston won't give reasonable and fair contracts, refuses to pay their agents any signing fees, and refuses to pay any player more than £90 a week between seasons. Meanwhile, Oyston is on holiday in Miami. Great time to go. Not.

What a carry on eh.But what brought all that on in the first place ? I know they had a diabolical season just like us last season and they nearly went down.

It's been coming for several seasons. The Oyston family has just got greedier and greedier. Our long standing goal keeper, who was voted player of the year last season, was out of contract. He was offered a new one year contract at 60% less money. Not only that, but it was by text. He walked away and who can blame him. Similar things happened to our other out of contract players, and why were there so many out of contract? Because he only offers one year deals with a club option to keep them a further year. That's no way to invest long term in a team.
I should add that the club has plenty of money, but most of it is in the Chairman's bank account.

Good god thats no way to treat a long standing player or indeed any other player.Carry on like that it wont be long as the rest will get fedup.
Its no good having all that money and not being able to spend it is it.They need to sort sumat out or they may well be league 1 candidates next year.At least Deano our chairman aint afraid to throw money to the manager to buy some new players in the transfer window. He just wants a return on his money and when we lost 0-4 last sat he saw red and it was bye bye Robins. He wants some positivity about the club and dont we all.We wanna put that nasty score behind us and come out on winning terms now.

Now I'm putting my Arsenal shirt on........and agreeing with this sentiment wholeheartedly! As we sang after being beaten by Villa at home at the beginning of last season 'spend some ****ing money'

I suppose from the clubs point of view they'll be looking at how much money they've invested in him, and if he's a half decent player the fans will want him back, and technically if he's served his time he's paid his debt to society. But. Morally I think it's disgusting that he'll be back playing football, opposing fans and players will give him (and rightly so, in my opinion) a really hard time. There's no place in a civilised society for rapists.

It'll be interesting to see how West Ham handle the Ravel Morrison situation, I think at the moment it's a case of 'innocent until proven guilty', a lot of the fans want him gone.

Seems like a lose/lose situation for the fans, the owner won't invest in the club and if the fans protest the owner won't invest in the club. I hope things improve for you.

Sounds like Rovers without the money in the account.
This was rovers two seasons ago. Loanees every month on must play deals. Highest paid on must play unless injured contracts. Not knowing who's playing from week to week.
Journeymen pros who couldn't give a toss about the club, mercenaries. Paying really low wages to young pros and benching them. Not giving the lads who do care a chance.
That's what happens when owners don't invest in the club. They only think of the now instead of the future. Instant success and results. It's not the fans who sacks managers!

Rant over!

Gonna hammer the shrews tomorrow! Can't go! Too busy!

Yep, and he's 30 and comes from a lower division club, but hey ho, we shall see. All our players are on one year contracts with a club option to offer another year, or at least all the new ones are. We play rivals Blackburn Rovers tomorrow.

A few more years left in him then yet

Good luck tomorrow

Any predictions for tomorrow?

Palace to get battered for some reason!

Everton to draw at Leicester! Hate Leicester!

Utd to sneak win!

Hull and stoke to win.

And oh yeah! Spurs to win comfortably by about 3 goals
