Breakfast: Edam omelette, ketchup

Lunch: half a ginger almond muffin, creamy decaf

Dinner: Mexican cauliflower casserole, mixed bean and avocado salad, leaves

Pud: chocolate orange jelly with caramel flavoured whipped cream. Got Robinsons sugar free, veggie jelly from Asda. Not as flavoursome and wobbly as the Simply Delish jelly, but it's orange flavoured so I got to try Spiker's chocolate orange recipe at last! (Jelly made with cocoa powder in the water) :)

Stage 1 Diabetes Miracle eating: day 2

2 baby bel on rising
Bacon and egg at cafe. The lovely guy who runs it recognised us and brought 2 lattes out as we arrived. Bummer. I had been going to ask for coffeencream. But it was very sweet of him, and he makes fab lattes. So I drank half and tipped the other half in a flower bed when he wasn't looking! I'm guessing 5 carbs in the milk.
BG 5.8 2 hrs later! Result.
Lunch was Brie and coleslaw.
BG 5.3 before and 5.8 after! Wow.
Unfortunately my body is used to hovering in the 6s, and decided to make my muscles feel wangy all afternoon.
Snack of crispy bacon. No carbs.
Dinner of pulled brisket (not home made) broccoli, beans, butter, berries n cream. 4 carbs in berries.
(I'm only counting the carbs that are fairly quick release, not the veg ones)
BG 6.2 after 2 hrs. F'ing excellent!

Oddly, having no probs with the food. That's easy. No carb flu or inconveniences like that, cos I'm used to the low carbs.

But I AM having a problem with the drinking! Milk has carbs. So no milk in tea. So no tea.:(
So I've had bovril, herb tea, peppermint tea and green tea.:***::yuck:
I drank water in the hot weather, but now it's cooler, the kettle is my friend...

Veg oxo cubes are quite nice as a snack Brun x

1.4g /100mls of made up liquid.
Only allowed 5 g with a meal, and none between meals. :bigtears:

Seems extreme, I know, but I really want to do this properly and put my pancreas to sleep for 2 months. Give it a nice rest...

And I need you all as witnesses, so I don't cheat! Lol

Edited to add: OFFS! Even miso soup has too many carbs to use as a snack!

Bacon and scram egg, coffee

Cheeseburger lettuce wrap

Salmon, spinach, cauli mash in cream and spring onion sauce.

Lots of lemon water. Not bad - especially as I froze the lemon slices and used them instead of ice!

Breakfast: cheese omelette, ketchup

Lunch: savoury almond muffin, fennel tea

Dinner: two Quorn cheeseburgers, Mexican cauliflower rice with kidney beans mixed through it

Snack: mini walnut and coffee muffin, creamy decaf

B: Ginger tea, cheesy omelette

D: Miso soup and a handful of peanuts

T: Prawn cocktail
Pork and pepper kebabs with courgette and mustard mayo
Orange jelly with cream and cinnamon

Fennel tea

Breakfast bacon, mushrooms, sad poached egg that wasn't set when I took it out so ended up being scrambled with the mushrooms
lunch salad box of tuna and cheese - really bland from deli in town
dinner steak, mushrooms, fried onion, salad and 6 oven chips
snack 2 sq 70% chocolate

D Miracle day 3:

Bullet proof coffee
Brie and M&S pork scratchings which are horrifyingly expensive and not as crunchy as the posh ones
2 babybel
Beef burger 100% meat, broccoli, asparagus, strawberries and cream and 1 square of 70% choc. Reached 6.7 2 hrs later, which was a bit disappointing.

Looking forward to my tablespoon of peanut butter at bedtime!

Less wangy muscles today, and no other side effects except for a strange lack of widdle. :wideyed:
Been drinking as normal, but fewer trips to loo.
Very odd.
It certainly isn't increased water retention. Surely I would be dumping fluid, if anything?
