Hi all, I've been reading about a so called miracle juice which consists of 1 apple, 1 carrot and 1 beetroot. Basically a cup of this every morning does wonders for your health and can even hold off cancer! Has anyone here tried it and is it ok to have every day with diabetes?

I think the fact that it is juiced is a problem, as you are basically just drinking

Apple Small: 16g Carbs
Beetroot small: 8g Carbs
Carrot small: 5g

29 grams of Carbs in a glass, with no digestion (as it's juiced).

Really bad idea imo.

Sounds suicidal.

Thats what i was thinking but i still might give it a go as the good may outweigh the bad

Every sugar overload damages your nervous system.
Not next week not next year not maybe.
It does the damage here and now and yesterday.
That is the thing we are trying to control and protect ourselves from so where's the good bit?
I think I'll damage my nervous system some more so I can be healthier doesn't make any sense.
Am I missing something here maybe?

Anything that starts off with the word miracle should be taken with a pinch of salt ... or sugar if you like stoking up the damage maybe.
How many miracle slimming pills miracle diets miracle cures have in fact turned out to be miraculous ... I know I'm as cynical as ever but I only grow my cynicism on the available evidence.
Unless you're reading/studying the Bible I reckon it's a fair bet to drop the word miracle.

Whats the problem? is it just the apple? I've always been told that we can eat as many vegetables as we like! Google it and see the benefits

That's my whole days carb allowance gone just in one drink! I think I'll pass too! :)

Juicing means you're processing the food outside your body meaning it will turn to sugar very very fast.
The aim with this disease is to control the sugar.
If it takes an hour for something to slowly turn to sugar it's better than processing it so it turns to sugar in five minutes.
Your body handling a teaspoon of sugar over an hour or a few hours is much healthier and safer for you than creating a sugar spike in short moments.

Eating as many veg as you like isn't quite correct.
Potatoes can be very bad.
A chip fried in dripping is so much better than mashed spuds.
A boiled potato is better than mashed.
Mashing is serious processing and avoiding processed foods is generally a good idea.

SJ ... this is the problem ^^^^^^^^^^
These figures are a serious problem.
Do you understand that the sugar is damaging your nervous system every time you do something like this?
Why would you want to do that?

I know it is not a real miracle, but interesting.:)

In Japan, miracle fruit is popular among patients with diabetes," so they say"
