B Porridge groats soaked overnight as per usual w/berries, yoghurt, cream, nuts, seeds
L Home-made veg soup started off in coconut oil, plus almond/cheese bread w/butter & Natex
T will be all steamed, white fish in wine & lemon, 5 veg & cream sauce w/mushrooms & butter thickened with buckwheat flour in my little sauce pan wot I have had for 17 years ;)

You do eat very well Deejay, sounds like a lovely menu for today! Can I ask though, what are porridge groats please?

Today,
Redbush tea with almond milk and coconut oil. Slice of rye toast with butter and marmite (did exercise session to minimise spike)

Some pistachios and cheese

Beef, avocado and gherkin sandwich made using romaine leaves, with mayonnaise and cherry toms. Raspberrys and cream with sliced almonds and cinnamon

Tea will be Cajun sausages, cauli cheese with some carrot and suede
and maybe a treat of small amount of organic raspberry ripple organic ice cream, well, it was £2.00 for a 700g tub in waitrose, reduced to clear! Will save rest for Christmas treats obviously. It's 13g carbs per 100ml, so I figured if I have less than 50g, that will hopefully only be about 6g carbs

Returning to 6.7 at 2 hours is good, it shows something inside your body is working well. I must add, however, that if you are going to test out a meal you must not eat anything else within that 2 hour period or it will skew the results.

(The spike over 5mmol/l at 1 hour is not good though, especially as it took you to double figures. You were lucky you came down so quickly).
Yes learning all the time. Thanks. I was hoping the olives and almonds would help bring it down. Not sure now.if it was my system or the foods.

My bm is still reducing and is almost within normal limits, prior to my evening meal it was 6.9. I'm very happy :-)
I might do something else other than porridge pots for breakfast as they seem to be raising my bm too much.

I can't do porridge, although I love it wiith salt and water, still spikes me.
Then my bs drops like a stone if I exercise, causing a hypo.
Greek full fat natural style yoghurt, some berries and maybe a few seeds of some kind?
I sometimes have a few tiny wholegrain wheats or a tiny sprinkling of granola with my berries and yoghurt. Still spikes but nowhere near as high.
Thanks Dibbles I will give that a try. I also read another post where they soak their porrige oats overnight in cream, yoghurt and berries which sounds yummy! I'll continue experimenting and report back :-)

can I trouble you to explain how to attach a photo?
Ta x Debs

I'm using this as an app on my iPhone, and when I type out a message there are 4 icons below where I'm typing/above the keyboard ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1415172324.803021.jpg
As you can see, options are take a picture, use an existing pic. Twitter I guess (I don't use) and other one is more options I think.
Not sure how this relates to desktop version as I do not use.
Hope this helps:)

I wonder if the resistant starch thing would work with porridge? Ie make it at night. Cool it and reheat? Anyone ? I miss my porridge

You'll be able to slice it in the morning! Might it be an idea to make it with a little more liquid so that the cooling/absorption doesn't impact on your revisiting eating experience?
