What are your natural remedies to keep bowel movement regular?
thanks!
thanks!
That's weird.
Constipation is usually hard, reluctant stools rather than gassy liquid.
Sound more like bloat and possible medication problems.
A lot of people report the loose gassiness with metformin, especially if they go up to too large a dose too quickly. Also, if they continue to eat carbs, as you are doing.
Have you checked the listed side effects for all your medication?
And any possible clashes between them?
There are calculators on the internet which tell you which drugs will interact with each other. In my experience, doctors and nurses only know whether the most common drugs interact.
Ground flax seeds mixed with boiling water , twice a day. Each lot is 25 grams seeds +75 grams or cc of the water. I add a bit of Tabasco sauce to tart it up a bit.
20g flaxseed a day sprinkled on whatever.
Loads of water
2 walks a day
half a slice or one slice of high fibre heavily seeded wholemeal bread daily..
I've checked and my medications don't clash, but with lixisenatide the common side effects are nausea, vomiting, headache, low blood sugar. Also my dose of metformin has not changed in a year and has always been 2 500mg twice a day.
What are flax seeds and do I buy them from supermarkets?
Hi Brunneria, you maybe correct on the Meds, however you can have constipation and still pass liquid when is in a very servere form. The liqid will pass the constipated parts, which is why sometime people don't realise they are constipated because of that effect. That's weird.

Yes, you can buy ground/milled flaxseed from supermarkets.
Adequate fibre. Green veggies, flaxseed (in baking), nuts, fats, and plentiful amounts of fluid/water.
I'm happy with "comfortable" rather than necessarily "regular", and don't particularly worry if I occasionally miss a day.
You can also use psyllium husks for extra bulk - but I found the powdered version I tried before I got my diet properly sorted was absolutely VILE!:***:
