  • Had to agree with a lot of what she said especially when she went out to the US to see what they were eating and it seems the obese just live on fast food the bigger and greasier the food is the more of it they eat

This really annoys me, and I've seen it on other programs here. "You think you're fat NOW, come see these big ol' fat slobs in the USA!" To say "the obese just live on fast food the bigger and greasier the food is the more of it they eat" is really offensive. I have never been thin and I was a raw vegan for a few years. I didn't live at McDonald's, nor "supersize" anything and ate plenty of vegetables and salads. Yes, there are plenty of overweight people in the USA, and there are plenty of overweight people in the UK and in many other countries. It doesn't help anyone by "scaring" these program participants by telling them if they continue their slovenly ways, they'll turn into humongous Americans. They don't have programs in the USA trying to scare Americans into going to the dentist by showing them, well, other people. :D

Some overweight people are that way because of beyond their control things such as psychological problems, certain medical conditions or the side effects of certain medications. The vast bulk of overweight people however are overweight because they eat rubbish, they eat far to much and/or they are physically lazy.

Did anyone watch Benefits:To Fat To Work? on Channel 5? They were even having their wedding paid for by the DWP. Celebrating losing 2 pounds at weight watchers with a kebab and ice cream.

Wow, seems like some people can be even more openly judgemental than me and get away with it.

Kudos.

Sounds like a pretty vile program.

I wonder if Katie Hopkins will end up with a permanently damaged metabolism. 4 stone rapid gain, followed by attempts to rapidly lose it - sounds like a perfect recipe for creating weight and metabolism issues...

I remain unconvinced (even by the many benefits shown by the Newcastle Diet) that rapid, severe, weight loss is a positive move in the long term (decades, rather than months and years).
I hope she has stretch marks (on her lips) lol

Let's not forget insulin resistance. Following the NHS plenty-o-carbs Eatwell Plate will lead to weight gain, carb cravings and more weight gain for people with insulin resisitance.
I have never known anyone who has eaten like that to be overweight

That is just how the many TV programmes about obesity here and in the US show it that obesity and lots of fast foods go together so maybe they think trying to scare people will make them sit up and think about their diet

With me being Scottish I am not going sweat over this thread, I will just stay calm.
Katy your not worth it even to yourself.:yuck:

Well, I think we should put Katie Hopkins in a boxing ring with ................ Russell Brand,:wacky: now I think that's a thread worth starting :hilarious: :p

Hope Russel knocks her out. She is so nasty and she will meet her match one day. I reckon she has offended enough people. I switch that bag off..prompt

I was 20 stone and almost never ate fast food. I did and still do spend many hours every week making food from fresh ingredients. my wife eats the same as I do and she is 7 stone.
