One week into the "Avocado's sort of 5:2 not fasting or counting calories, but avoiding dairy and nuts - apart from coconuts because I keep forgetting they're nuts diet" (patent pending). It seems to have shocked my metabolism as I have lost 5 pounds :wideyed: Might have been a fluke, but I'll keep doing it this month and see how it goes. Mondays and Thursdays, so today was a "diet" day.

B: plain three egg omelette
L: celery and celeriac soup
D: veg and chickpea curry on bean sprouts fried in coconut oil

I'm back at work after Pupternity which is, sad to say, better for my exercise levels, food intake and water intake.
:bigtears::spitoutdummy::mad:
This disappoints me, and crushes my fond fantasy that, if I wasn't working, I would be fit, active, eating fabulously and drinking the right amount.

Humph.

So, today:
B: 9bar and coffee with cream
L: broccoli bits, baby corn, hummus, taramasalata and some cheese that was left in the work kitchen with a label saying 'Help Yourself!' So I did. Brie, Red Leicester with spring onion and the white one with cranberry.
S: 2 sq gd choc
D: breakfast balls in a slab cos that's easier to cook. And about to have berriesncream.

And I've actually drunk enough! Any excuse to leave my desk, eh?

B: whole tin of sardines & butter on almond/cheese bread & tomatoes, all warmed up. (John West sardines, Xmas present, no backbones, no skin, very posh)
L: cold beef & mixed leaf salad, celery, tomatoes, cheese, dressing (olive oil, cider vinegar, xylitol. lemon juice)(I bought processed beef in mistake for corned beef. The processed has corn starch and sugar in it :***: Why must they muck it about?)
D: chicken tagine, mashed cauli in lemon juice, green beans, few sweetcorn.
S (or late dessert): choc & coconut cheesecake & double cream, in the bath, with decaff coffee.

B: porridge made with Almond milk milk and a good dollop of cream, yum :-)
L:avocado and two sticks of celery
D: two pork loin steaks and scrambled eggs
Berries cream yoghurt and oats for afters

2 Boiled eggs and mackerel in olive oil
Sausages
Chicken breast and a jacket potato + mixed veg
Maybe some leerdammer cheese slices for supper on wholemeal bread (small slices)

3.9 pre dinner. Dinner of 2 chicken drumsticks, chick pea curry and salad followed by a 9 bar. 2 hour post dinner reading of 5.6. Pleased with that dinner and the end outcome.

@Avocado Sevenfold, I've lost all excess weight without even trying to lose (now trying to maintain weight as I seem to lose more) after avoiding dairy. I haven't quit nuts though. :)

What are breakfast balls? If I eat any 9Bar my numbers go sky-high... I made tinned red salmon fish cakes... Mashed steamed cauliflower, the salmon, onion and garlic powder, fish sauce, a little soy sauce, ground cumin, coriander, ginger and chilli... Made into little patties and fried quickly in coconut oil. Yummy, especially when dipped in chilli tomato ketchup, which I know it's naughty, but only a little :-) I made enough to leave in the fridge for a snack and ate two cold for breakfast this morning. I like leftovers, I feel as though I'm not struggling so much if I have stuff in the fridge.... Mind you, I probably eat more that way :-)

Why did you avoid dairy to begin with? How do you manage without cheese?!

Decadent☺️

Ooh, poor thing! Denied the 9bar!

These are my breakfast balls (basically cheesy meatloaf, in blobs). Love em. I make them in batches, with the intention to freeze. But they've never lasted long enough to make it into the freezer yet...

Breakfast balls? AMAZEBALLS MORE LIKE. I'm definitely going to try those.

Today:

B: 2 scrambled eggs with cheddar and spring onions.
l: piece of veg frittata, lettuce cucumber and spring onion, dollop Mayo.
D: (out at a bar): 2 sausages with sauerkraut and mustard, halloumi, bit of courgette salad. 1 glass of white wine as a rare treat.

Tomorrow we are going to a wedding which is highly unlikely to be low-carb friendly. I intend to do my best, enjoy myself, and get solidly back on track the next day.

@Susikav, I sometimes eat small quantities but not a lot because I do get reflux/acid...And I'm also lactose intolerant. :) I'm afraid it doesn't like me back. :) I usually have almond milk in lieu of dairy milk.

Breakfast boiled egg thin slice spelt bread
Lunch pate, carrots , celery, babybel , sliver of Brie, pickled onions
Dinner lamb spinach curry ready meal. Onion bajhia and 1/2 poppadum
Snack decaff soy latte 2 sq dark chocolate

Was meant to be low cal day today but got stuff needing using up so sort of around 1000 cal mark which is bit lower than usual

I have also made soup for the first day back tomorrow :( I am going to be so popular when I open my flask of questionable, stinky green soup :blackeye:

Brunch: two Quorn sausages, two fried eggs
Dinner: chickpea and mixed veg curry. Got pineapple jelly and banana whipped cream for later.

My mum convinced me that if I boiled an onion for an hour then drank the water, it would cure my cough. Tried it. She must really hate me :wideyed:

I've never heard of onion water being a cure but when I was a youngster living at home Mum used to boil an onion salt and pepper it and swore it would kill a cold, sometimes it did or appeared to.
