Bit confused about the high fat thing

Why do people keep sticking their noses in???? The thread is pretty much finished .....got the answer I needed two pages ago!

I started this thread and I'm not finished with it yet, thank you!

I'm starting to get this now! I've been following lchf for a couple of weeks now and it's definitely working! From my highest morning readings of over 30 a week or so ago I'm now getting reading as low as 7.6, I am thrilled!

I've been having one problem, and that has been a few very high readings in the morning but then I read about the Dawn Phenomenon. The mornings I've had the high readings have all been following a bedtime snack containing carbs - won't be making that mistake again!

i don't understand how it works but it does, I've been eating butter instead of low fat spread, more cheese that I've ever eaten and have found some extremely low carb crackers instead of bread, and I've lost a few pounds into the bargain! :)

Great stuff Rowan. It works because carbs convert to glucose, fats don't. Cut the carbs and your glucose levels decrease accordingly. The only affect fats have on glucose is that they keep the spikes a bit lower than otherwise, but do tend to keep the rise up a bit longer. This way, the curve on the graph looks more like a hump than a peak.

You maybe out of your mind but I still love the shades.

My fry up this morning in duck fat! Marvellous!

It's cloudy with a chance of.............!

You can't be wearing them for practical purposes?

It can't be a selfie, so why the Ray-Bans and the pose!

Lol!

I'd have to visit Liverpool. To find one or I may look in Google!

It's a selfie. They are prescription. And it was sunny. I was enjoying an 18C afternoon where I live in Calgary on the weekend. We had a record warm day - normally this time of the year it would be from -10 to -30.

My god that is warm for Calgary!
Did you miss that storm that's threatening NY?
We hardly ever see snow, just twice so far and it doesn't stick. It's just cold and damp, very damp! Rather have freezing than damp!

Yes, it missed us. We're about 4000 km from NY.

If you do go to China town .... easier parking and lots of just about anything you could want including cocnut oil in one place.
It's right opposite the Albert dock.

Chinatown is opposite the Anglican cathedral, Jack. Liverpool One shops opposite Albert dock.

I take the grandkids to the museums there at Albert Dock. Really good!

Thanks for the info!

Yeah I know the area. Haven't been for quite a while. Get one of the kids to take me.

Right hand side of the main road is Albert dock.
Left hand side of the road and three streets back is China town and the best stores are in the old mills by the big carved dragon gate.
