Before breakfast 8.00, porridge blueberries, stroll with dog.
2 hours post breakfast 9.4 !!! WHAT !! Panic attack, Had same breakfast, same walk, what the ..... is going on.
Ok, don't panic Sue, just test again - Second test 7.3. :-)
Panic over, blasted Codfree.

The Codefree is normally good, just the one batch that was erratic. What is the LOT number on your tubs?

Tub not left in a cold place, hope this is a one off. Don't want to have to test twice each time, costs etc

That is the same batch I received yesterday, and so far is showing normal expected readings. All meters will throw out rogue readings every now and again, so just like you did today, if you see a really unexpected high (or low) number, test again twice. Look at the 3 readings and decide what to record. You will probably end up averaging 2 of them, or even all 3.

WELL DONE!!!
That is fantastic, did you manage all that in only 3 months. Did you tell her about the lchf ?
:)
You are an inspiration to all type 2 on metformin.
Go girl.
Thanks Milly, like I say I couldn't have done without the support from here. Yes it is all in a few months, lots of determination, got a way to go yet as I have another stone to lose and still want to get off all tablets. She was quite receptive to the lchf idea as she had the proof right in front of her. I don't know about being an inspiration to others, it's the people on here who have been an inspiration to me. ;)

Well you HAVE inspired me.
I am on 4 metformin per day, I go back to nurse April, I am trying to stay positive.

You may also find that there is a slight differential between meters/manufacturers too. That is perfectly usual, so it may take a few days or so for you to settle into your new meter and strips. Thes meters are mass produced tools, and as we accept a bit of variation between bathroom scales, we need to accept a bit with these too. Otherwise we'd be paying a lot more money than we do.

As Blue says, Codefree has served the vast majority of us extremely well for some time, aside from the odd reading and this apparently odd batch (ending 44). Don't start off on a downer on the Codefree. It's an excellent product, and allows us all a level of testing and insight we might struggle to support at £20-odd for 50 strips.

5 days of 4's comes to an end with a 5.2. Was 4.8 post-dinner. Usually my fasting reading is below the post-dinner reading but not today.

My readings continue to go +1 on all fronts
5.8 before dinner
Was so ****** off so chucked the kit in my bedroom
came back and 2hrs after dinner came at 4.7
6.2 fasting and the kit was again in cold
but i am just thinking it is not that cold anymore is it for it to behave so erratic

Just got back from DPN who says I have made her day, she is really pleased with my progress. my BMI is down to 29, hba1 is down from 66 to 41, weight is just a couple of pounds off losing 2 stones. blood test shows kidneys and everything else is fine. she has reduced my metformin by 1 a day so am on 3 a day now. if I continue in this way she will reduce it again in 3 months. i'm happy with that:D going to celebrate with bacon cheese and a staffordshire oatcake, they don't spike my bloods if I only have 1
Yay!! Brilliant results kaz!! No wonder you made her day :)

I think being positive has a lot to do with it. I don't think I have ever seriously considered the fact that I won't get off meds, I just believe that with a lot of hard work and determination I will achieve my goal. Every day I can see it coming closer bit by bit. It took years for me to get this way so I know it will take a while to sort myself out. But as I am responsible for my own body there is only me that can put it right. You keep up the good work milly, you show that DPN in April who is in control;):joyful:

Thanks kimbo, I have to say I am feeling really chuffed with myself. Hopefully when I see her in 3months she might knock another tablet off. I gave myself a year to lose 3stones, I think when I next go back I might well have done that thanks to lchf. That will only have been 6months if I'm successful.

Thanks for that

Phoned surgery to be advised all blood where normal, mentally danced around the office. Asked for a copy to be faxed over, was somewhat perplexed no HB that I could see, phoned surgery they have not got that one back. Deflated.

So restless weekend ahead waiting, good news is in May Alt/sgpt level was 83 now 28, cholesterol was high now normal, all bloods reading in normal ranges, hoping HB follows this trend.

As they say watch this space.

4.6 this morning
Then I did trundle across to the surgery to request my HbA1c results
42 :):headphone::hilarious::D:joyful::playful: which is fine by me.
So being ill for a few weeks the previous month, with much higher BG test results, only raised my HbA1c by 1 point since last time. Which is fab  So don't go being scared while you're ill, of it raising your HbA1c too much ;)
Well done!!

Don't think there will be any problem with that - not with the figures you've:) been posting
