Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

Have signed up to myfitnesspal and it states I need to eat approx. 1200 calories, 156.0g carbs and I have 655 calories left today.

The carb amount doesn't seem right.

Can you feel the support coming at you Scottie? We all care and want to do whatever we can to help. It will get easier, just take your time getting your head round all the different things you need to adapt to. xx

re MFPal - click on 'settings', then 'goals', then click on the green box 'change goals'.

After that, highlight the 'custom' circle, and press 'continue'.

You can then amend the 'calories', carbs, protein, and fat.

I have set mine at 1218 calories, 15% carbs, 20% protein, and 65% fat.
BUT this is for me to lose half a pound a week to a 1lb. I do play around with this, depending on exercise etc.

I also used this site which helped me decide:

http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ or try using this site: http://www.phlaunt.com/lowcarb/DietMakeupCalc.php

Scottie, the Hovis bread is the Hovis WHOLEMEAL seed sensations at 14 carbs per slice. The other one is the Original Seed Sensations, which has many more carbs.

Hi scottie , how are you ? Lidls have a rye golden lindseed thats only 9.3 g's a slice.

Hi Scottie, Just to say I think you are doing really well. If you look back at your first post you say you were in the high 20 and 30s and had been for a week. That was on the 5th Feb, it is now the 18th, less than 2 weeks later and you have readings of 16 after food.

As others have said, your high BS will make you feel ill, also some of us, myself included, found that we suffered from what is becoming referred to as 'low carb flu', when we started reducing our carb intake. It was kind of like have flu symptoms but with out having a cold. Basically our bodies are addicted to high carb intake and are trying to convince us to increase the amount we are eating. For me it lasted a week or so then suddenly I started to feel so much better than I had for a long time.

I hope you do start to feel the benefit soon, you are doing brilliantly even if it doesn't feel it at times.

Morning scottie.
It's your turn to tell me off.
I had two home made pancakes last night, with fresh lemon, I said I was only going to have one.
Bad Milly.

Hows half term going, have you managed to go to the park, I do hope so.

I am going to try extra hard today.
Hope you have a good day Scottie

Morning

BG upon waking were 18.1 so that's coming down a bit for the fasting test.

Thank for the info about bread Clive, will try that. I am not too bad this morning. Feeling positive again, so that's good. How are you?

Ruth, thank you for your support and telling me about coming off high carbs, it certainly makes sense. That's the feelings I am having, hope it passes soon.

Naughty Millie, haha, I resisted but it was hard when the children were eating them. Going to a market on Friday and then to the park. Daughter sleeping at Grandma's and Pa's tonight, and then again at a friends on Thursday. But when hubby gets up at approx. 1pm he then isn't at work until Monday night so it will be lovely having him at home. I find the evenings hard without him, especially when it comes to snacking. But so far, I have done well.

I was last weighed at my diabetic check up in December and according to my weight today I have lost 1 stone 1 lb. Should really have weighed myself when I started low carbing.
