And for the rest... i am diabetic sinse 1989 so i have it now almost 26 years, i have a insuline pump sinse 2004 and that saved my life.
i try to typ in mine best english, i felt in love with my soulemate almost two years ago and he is english, sinse 2 mouths i life here in england, so i thought i enjoy the club here.
thats enough for now lol

Hi, I am Brett, 46 and diagnosed with T2 at the end of November, I was put on metformin straight away and have had that increased to 2000mg a day now. Exercise is hard for me as I also have emphysema so find it difficult to do any exercise for long. I have cut out carbs but still can't seem to lose weight, so still a rotund little man.... Lol. I am living in East Sussex but originally from Belfast. According to everyone that knows me I am a happy confident man with no fears. But I have to be honest this worries me. I have looked around the site and seen the help and support the people on this site have offered to complete strangers and I admire you all. I seem to be rambling now, so good luck to all and I look forward to being a member of this community...

Hello,
Joined today, been Type 2 for about 25 years and had it under control with Metformin diet and exercise. Three years ago went onto Glyburide and last week has Forxiga added to the mix. Very curious how others have reacted to Forxiga

Hello Stephen, welcome to the forum. I'm also type 2 since 1998 after acute pancreatitis , I'm on insulin a year .
Now doing low carb diet and my readings have come down well.
You owe it to yourself to try and take control and stick with it.

Hi Erin I was only diagnosed type 1 in October last year and still honeymooning myself. Only taking 2 or 3 units of novorapid with meals and 5 lantus at the minute and it's not changed since I was diagnosed. Hope my honeymoon lasts forever. Good to hear from a fellow honeymooner

Hi Spaockraptor, its nice to know someone else who is honeymooning! Sounds like my needs are v similar to yours - Ive stopped injecting at breakfast and usually take 2-4 units at lunch/dinner and 4 units of Lantus at night. I love that my bg stabilises during the night but look forward to when I can predict what I will need! At the moment I just judge whether I need more or less (novorapid) based on the previous few days. That's great that your doses haven't changed much since diagnosis, long may it continue

Hi my names maria, I live in leeds (England) I'm an insulin dependent diabetic for 18 yrs now (I'm 31 ) very poorly controlled and suffering the consequences my last hba1c was 17 ( around 94 in new money ) really trying to get my health on track I'm not religious , I'm a full time single mum of 3 I'm still in love but now that's just with my kids x I like to think I am honest kind and homely I enjoy tv and reading ( Patricia cornwell and Jill mansall) I have a tattoo of a cross on my back between my shoulder blades I have been camping ( never again) never used fake tan , no pets , used to love doing sports not so easy these days but want to do a skydive xx

I have been diabetic since I was 8 years old and am now 26. Diabetes is under reasonably good control but could always be a little better. I am an athiest but not the offensive type, I believe people have the right to follow a religion if they chose, although I am against religion personally as I feel many are oppressed within their faiths and I certainly do not agree with religion over science (after all, it is science and medicine that keeps us Diabetics alive).

I am a very friendly person and love a good discussion about anything. Its great to be on the forums reading peoples stories and its great to meet you all!
