Hi - I am Stephen- joined today- type 2 diabetic for last 5 years- been on insulin for 6-8 months. History of diabetes in family- both parents and grandmother died as a result of this. TBH- fed up of insulin and blood testing -3 times a day and calculating carbs. I know that diabetes will get me in the end so why fight it. Would like to hear an alternate view.

Hi Steve I'm sorry you are feeling so despondent, it is hard having to adjust to a different lifestyle but dont lose heart have a good look around the forum it might help rekindle your motivation and give you some hope. Best of luck

I have had diabetes -T1 - for nearly 27 years, love my chocolate, take Humalog and Lantus but think I may have to change my insulin (Lantus) - will see my diabetes nurse soon!

Hi Everyone, New to the forum. Name is Eddie, I go by Cobannero (after the name of Coban, a small town in Guatemala where I spent some of the best years of my teen life).
I was diagnosed a little over a year ago and am still having a difficult time dealing with some of the facts including how I could have prevented my now type 2 condition. Today, a customer I just met recommended I join a diabetic forum to learn, vent, maybe even help someone else. Well, I'm here and somehow I feel both sad & happy that there are others in similar conditions & that I'm not alone in this. situation.
Altough my avatar is of San Francisco, I live in the NYC area. I wish I could live in SF but that will have to be for another life after reincarnation.

Well, I'm off to bed for now. Really exhausted from a long day. Will return tomorrow.
