5.7 this morning....othr than being jolted awake by alarm clock can't think of a reason for it to.be higher today

7.2 can't seem to get below 7, this is my lowest fasting level so far. Am I doing something wrong?
If your daytime levels are consistently good I wouldn't worry too much about your fasting levels. Has there been a general downward trend towards 7s.....some of us (me included), despite the thread title, are in the prediabetic range and others take VERY strict control of their diet to achieve such low numbers. I just eat to my meter and as long as my daytime levels are good I'm happy. :)

5.4 am, had some brown rice last night and some strawberries 30 mins after dinner......... pre 4.3 post 6.3...
only eating at meal time..... not sure if it is sensible.....
It used to be recommended to eat 5 smaller meals a day to keep bs stable....it DOES make sense. If I fancy a pud (obvs nothing mega sweet) I wait 2 hrs and test....if am low enough post meal will have it, if not I don't. Perhaps not best for weight control, but bs in a good place....
I test post pud too to see if it's an ok pud for me ;)

Good morning all. I was 6.2 this morning after a 6.5 bedtime reading. Just off out to a day long DESMOND course.
Sorry everyone but my laptop crashed a few days ago so I won't be able to do the summaries until I get it fixed or get a new one.
No probs, of course... we are just grateful for what you've done my dear... :) Thank you again...

Thank you Sable-Jan. My pre lunch level was 5.6, could be because I went to the gym? Will be testing again before dinner and then before bed. Had 2 Ryvita with very light cream cheese and cucumber, plus a handful of nuts and a satsuma for lunch. Dinner will be a chicken dish with vegs, then out singing with my choir, so no snacking!!! ☺

Don't forget to do your 2 hour post meal tests too x

Greatly admire you effort of sticking it out on the N.D, I think thats really special. SALUTE !!!
Thank you Sir
But i think its what i do now is more important in terms of my diet and exercise.
I dont want to go back into old habits or gain weight as i have stayed very hungry for very long to loose weight and hopefully loose diabetes in the process along the way.
We will see how it goes now.

Hello everyone. My fasting blood sugar was 4.7. Still on Metformin and hoping to kick it or at least reduce the dosage.

Ha ha, 5 more weeks of this for me before I'm at that stage. I'm dreaming of a nice steak!

5.7 this morning an hour or so after rising.
You can have a steak now just as long as you subtract its calorific value from your daily 800 quota :)
