My latest Hb1ac was 6.6% which is 6 months after diagnoses :) Very proud of this as when I was diagnosed (and in ketoneacidosis) it was over what they could actually measure :sorry: and my test at 3 months was 10.1% so i'm happy to have gotten it down in the time I have! I also got told the 'optimal' is 6.5% - what are peoples thoughts on this?:)

They say 6.5% or below is 'good control'. However a non-diabetics Hb1ac would not be this high, therefore whilst 6.5% is a good achievement for a diabetic (my previous result), for me it's not my optimal result. I want to be aiming for the 5%'s and get my levels as similar as a non-diabetic as I can.

What are your H test results?

Mine is 7.1mmol
mine was 42 which I think is 7mmol and I really wanted to be lower than that. What is the ACR test mine was 3,5?

Liquorice and aniseed (especially the tracer I have to drink in hospital before a CT scan - yuk!)
Hi @fleurtess,

How did you convert 42 to 7mmol?

My "score" was 47, so I'd be interested to learn the mmol equivalent if you or anyone else knows the equation.

Do you just divide by 6? This would give me 7.83.

I looked up the conversion on the Internet. I am aiming for it to be lower next time

47 gives you 7.7 or 6.5%

Mine was 42 which equates to 7mmol
Dec 2014 = 148
Mar 2015 = 70
Jun 2015 = 48
So going in right direction but apparently cholesterol is getting a little high now. I am still waiting for first appointment with dietician after 8 months and have stopped going to gym cos of fear of hypos

Got my results yesterday. Down to 7.2 from 11.8. I am aiming to be below 6 but definitely on the right track and feeling like the hardwork is starting to pay off :)
