    Alpha Lipoic Acid

My daughter is T1 she’s been suffering from neuropathy symptoms for about a month. She’s taking Amitriptyline, is it safe to take alpha lipoic acid as well to reduce the burning sensation in her feet? It’s making sleep impossible for her at the moment. Any advice gratefully received [emoji1317]

    Curious!

She was a good girl! Her wonderful friends looked after her, they told the bouncers who said they wouldn't get thrown out if they looked a bit D&D. Her one friend was nominated driver so didn't drink and bought her home. She woke me up ( I went a bit OTT with a giant sized note on her pillow...

    Curious!

Well she's gone out! All I can do is wait for her to get home. She's out with really sensible friends one who has a type 1 dad, so I know they will look after her. My main worry is that she doesn't know how she'll react to the alcohol and she's had quite low levels for the last couple of days...

    Curious!

Ok so I'm crashing this thread and many will think I shouldn't (especially as I said I would stick to the parent's section - sorry Emma!) The type 1 diagnosis is scary enough but although I know it's well meaning I think the post about never drinking is a bit harsh, and yes I do understand how...

What is the Criteria to get insulin pump?

Ok seems you can't post website addresses? Or is it just me? The address given in the post above mine needs a .uk at the end to work! Please let me know if we're not allowed to post website addresses, still new to all this! Helenx Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Glucose levels dropping what to do?

Ok so after a day of quite high averages yesterday (in the 15 range). Emma's results have dropped to 7.5 this is good I know but when she spoke to nurse this morning she said up the long lasting dose to 12 units (was 10) tonight. She said she feels a bit hypo at 7.5 and I'm a bit worried that...

    Mother's having a melt down!

She had a lovely time last night, bit naughty ate more carbs than she perhaps should but at least she was happy testing and injecting in public! As for the phone, she's quite often let it run down so I have most of her friends numbers already anyway! I have to keep reminding myself she's...

    Mother's having a melt down!

Thanks both x I think you've hit the nail on the head she's in control so she's fine, all I can do is watch her and annoy her by asking if she's ok! Angie I've managed to avoid telling anyone other than my dad! My two sisters will take the 'oh no she's seriously ill approach!' I'm feeling...

    Mother's having a melt down!

My daughter has type 1 found out on Thursday... Ok so Emma is fine and has taken control of the diabetes rather than the other way round which is of course fantastic! So why am I having a melt down? Anyone else react like this? Thoughts please............ Helen x

    Whos failing?

I have admit to only skimming this thread but you all seem to be making some excellent points. My daughter was basically dismissed by the GP when she presented with classic type 1 symptoms and BG level of 22.5. If she'd been referred to the hospital at this point on Tuesday it would have...
