    Type 1 and motorbike ??

I used to have a motorbike before switching to a car. In response to diabetes yes you absolutely can but you will have to renew your licence every 3 years instead of 10 years and if you experience episodes where you require the assistance of others during the day (up to 4 times in one year) not...

Fed up of all thing’s diabetic

Thanks everyone for the responses it just makes a whole difference talking to others that actually get the frustration of it all. The needle changes have been so much better who knew a couple of mm would make a huge difference. Spoke to my DSN and discussed the appointment and she is so...

Fed up of all thing’s diabetic

Yes I am type1 and on long acting 2 times a day with minimum of 3 fast acting for meals, they questioned my diagnosis but the damage is already done, I will deal with most things they say but if they said that to someone who is recently diagnosed they are giving false hope. I have until this...

Hey all, I’m have been diabetic for nearly 25 years and I have got to a point where I am fed up with dealing with all of it and especially when my diabetes is blamed for everything. I feel like no one actually understands what it’s like to go through it and I asked the same question to the...

Fed up of my diabetes being blamed for everything.

In my personal experience everything is blamed on diabetes but then the diabetes is my fault [emoji53] I was diagnosed at roughly 8 years old and have been on insulin from the start, the diabetes consultant continuously questions if that is my diagnosis and that I am on multiple jabs a day...

    My Hypo Seizure Story

Sorry you had to go through all of this and hope you make a speedy recovery. I too went through similar to yourself and ended up having stitches in my top lip and very very nearly cut the main nerve in my hand. I had many tests to try and figure out what was causing them but have never got any...

I also have to apply for a medical exemption certificate and get a small card. I once received a penalty notice as mine had expired and I was waiting for a new one to turn up

    Lows

Hey, Just looking for some advice really. I am currently on novorapid at meals and have 17 units of Lantus at night with my evening meal. The problem I currently have is that even if I have a high carb meal and have a little novorapid (lately even a correction for high sugars and not counting...

Type 1: How many times do you have to test your blood sugar

Thanks for this it is extremely helpful and will use it towards getting more strips as they base things on cost and not needs

Type 1: How many times do you have to test your blood sugar

That's really interesting to know I will question them about that as I always have to think if there is enough to last and they also keep storing them in the fridge so will have to write a letter to them as calling is not getting anywhere does anyone else have this much hassle?

Type 1: How many times do you have to test your blood sugar

I am based in Cambridgeshire and yes I'm under the NHS and I originally had only a couple of boxes and had to argue for more as they treated it like I have type 2 diabetes
