Thanks for your replies. I appreciate that trends only offer estimates, but it would be good to know, for instance, that a certain average level of mmol/l would get me an HbA1c of approximately 50mmol/mol. It would be like breaking things down to a daily or weekly target rather than waiting 3...
Hi. Can we work out an estimated HbA1c based on a rolling average of mmol/l?
So if I get an average mmol/l of 10 mmol/l using a continuous blood glucose monitor, is there a conversion to predict approximately what my 3 month HbA1c will be?
Since diagnosis of type 2, approximately 4 years ago, I've always had a high fasting BG reading. This is despite, at times, bringing my weight down significantly and bringing my HbA1c right down. Will this prevent me from ever getting into ketosis, and is there a solution?
Hi. I suffer the common side effect of '30 second warnings' as a result of taking Metformin. I have come to the conclusion that this generally happens if I have eaten well (low carb). If I have a poor meal (high carb) then I don't seem to be affected. So the result of eating a type 2 friendly...
Hi. I finally go round to requesting a change to modified realease Metformin from standard Metformin. My new prescription states 1 x 500mg tablet with breakfast. My old prescription was for 1 x 500mg tablet with a meal 3 times a day.
So I've gone from 1500mg a day to 500mg. Does this sound...
As time goes on with this sensor I'm convinced it is reading low and the symptoms i experienced were hydration related. The readings are still coming in low but I have concentrated on staying well hydrated and haven't had a repeat of those symptoms.
Thanks for all the replies. For every new...
I got my HbA1c down from 74 on diagnosis to 41 over about 9 months but I'm due another blood test and I'm expecting it to be back up after having a poor diet throughout summer.
The symptoms I described ive had occasionally for about 20 years but as I said I always put them down to dehydration...
Hi. I have Type 2 and low BG is something I never thought I would have. As I have mentioned in past posts, I use Freestyle Lybra from time to time to keep myself honest and to try and prevent myself from slipping back into bad habits.
During lockdown my diet has been poor but about 2 weeks ago...
Can anyone explain why the finger price test results using the SD Code Free varied from 8.7mmol/L to 7.5mmol/L when taken one minute apart. Is this the level of inaccuracy that is to be expected?
OK so took a reading from the FS Libra followed by one with the SD Code Free then another with the SD Code Free. All of them within a minute or so of each other.
Hi.
I have type 2 and every once in a while I buy a couple of Freestyle Libre sensors and use them to monitor what foods are doing what to my BG levels. Also if my diet hasn't been too good I find that seeing my levels helps keep me honest with myself.
I have just started wearing a new sensor...
