    Blood tests

Thank you Nicole. When I mentioned metabolic syndrome before, the GP just oh no you won't have that. But maybe it is, the bloods will show. I will update once the results are back.

    Blood tests

Thank you all. So I have booked my blood test..earliest is 7th June. And the doctor has requested fasting glucose and cholesterol. I am aware the hba1c doesn't change whether you fast or not as it's based on 3 months prior. But last time I was diagnosed they accepted my results (same as before...

    Blood tests

Thank you, yes I'm thinking it could be a lipid panel as previously they diagnosed prediabetes on my HBA1C in 2019. I'll ring the surgery to book, and ask what the test is for.

    Blood tests

Thanks Jo. I know the hba1c is based on 3 months, and just wasn't sure if they thought it was not the right test and are requesting a fasting glucose test, but I was previously diagnosed 2 years ago by my GP on that HBA1C test alone. Maybe they are testing cholesterol...metabolic syndrome...

    Blood tests

Hi all, so I've had my blood test back (done privately at work) and its 42 so I'm back to being prediabetic. I've done an econsult with my GP and they have asked for a fasting blood test...why do I feel they are not believing me despite sending the copy of my result. Would cholesterol tests be...

    Back again 2nd time diagnosed

Oh this gives me hope with my skin tags, I've always had a few from sun damage when I was young, but I literally have so many, tiny ones popping up all round my neck, behind my ears. I hate them and I'm now hopeful they may subside. Thank you

    Back again 2nd time diagnosed

Thank you, I'll have a read. The macros and correct amounts of protein etc confuse me a little. If I remember they have to add up to 100..and carb as low as manageable.

    Back again 2nd time diagnosed

Thank you, getting my GP to speak to me is almost impossible.. they don't like it too much as I have my bloods done through my work. But really need them to help me a bit, I can't keep yo-yoing between non and prediabetes.

    Back again 2nd time diagnosed

Thank you. Yes old ways slipped back, but meno and my Mum getting worse with her alzheimer's didn't help the comfort eating. Mum is now in a care home, and receiving the best care from a wonderful team, so I now need to do this for my health. The high fats were really not good, in the end I...

    Back again 2nd time diagnosed

Hi all, Well I am back, I was here about 2 years ago with prediabetes and I managed to reverse my hba1c to 38 from 42. I used the LCHF/Keto diet and intermittent fasting and lost around 22 pound......fast forward a year, I have gained the weight and more. I thought I would get another HBA1C done...

    Type 2 Ice cream recommendations?

Yep Oppo is pretty good. My fav is the vanilla or salted caramel. Managed to buy a freezer full as asda discontinued them... £1.50 a tub bargain.

Don't think Keto is for me

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here much again. I haven't tried them to be honest and have faithfully stuck to water and all is working as it should [emoji6]
