Hey Everyone.
Looking for some advice, I'm T1 and currently suffering with what I think is flu and some sickness. Through out today and yesterday my ketones have been climbing and I'm currently at 0.9.
At what point would you seek medical advice if at all?

Hi all.
I'm 28 and have had T1 for around 3 years, recently I have had a bit of a burn out and stopped taking long acting insulin.
During this time my blood sugars were higher than usual as expected but insulin would always bring it back into range. This was around 4 weeks ago.
I started to...
Hi. I think this might be happening to me! All of a sudden I have had higher BG readings and the amount of insulin I usually take just doesn't seem to be working. I'm 28 and have been T1 for around 3 years.
What happened and how did you notice it? Thanks Beth x
Hey everyone :)
Just a quick query because I'm getting really frustrated with this. Whenever I order some more BG test strips from my pharmacy they always send me the ketone ones.

I do participate in some exercise but definatly something to think about :)
Thank you. Glad you managed to turn it around. X
Is that 0.4 or 4.0? Helen is right, if you arent eating a lot or being sick you start to use the fat stored in your body and that can cause ketones.
Dafne is a course and you learn about ketones/sick day rules.

Hi Kelly.
I literally posted a similar message yesterday! I find it so frustrating, before diagnosis I never used to get poorly! Now im always catching something!
Hope you are well! :)
Beth.
Hi Helen.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have had the flu jab, might have just been a bit unfortunate this year!
I find that too! Is that our BG climbs when we are unwell anyway? I find I have to take much more corrective insulin when I am poorly. Im usually quite good at being in range!
:)
Hey Guys.
Ive been T1 for a little over 2 years now, my diagnosis came after being incredibly poorly. Before T1 I was very rarely ill and since diagnosis I seem to have an infection every other month from flu to cellulitus more often than not resulting in hospital stays.
Whilst I know i am...
