Hi all,
I take lantus every evening at 10pm and I'm asleep at 10:30pm - I've seen that people take it earlier than that. I was wondering if it's benefit me taking it at 9pm rather than 10pm because DAFNE reckoned my lantus was running out in the evening and making my levels rise?
Hiya,
I went through a stage of having high levels for about 6 months because I wouldn't stop eating tons of carbs. I'd go for lunch at school with friends and buy big packets of cookies and eat share bags of chocolate to myself. Getting tighter control did not make me gain weight. I reduced...
I've been having to give more at breakfast and lunch too, I probably should have mentioned that so my apologies but for some reason those doses have been working a bit better.
I'm quite an ill child and suffer from under active thyroid and chronic hives so my immune system does struggle so I hope it's just the cold and nothing else, I can't think of any changes
Hi all,
My levels keep being high when I do my evening blood sugar before bed - anything been 10-16. They aren't normally like this.
I have low carb dinners (meat and veg) and usually give 6 units for this but despite increasing to 8 I'm still going high.
I have come down with a cold/sore...
I've been on antihistamines before I was diabetic and since (I have severe hives) and I've never had continuous high blood sugars as a result. However, perhaps your levels are higher because your body is combating the allergy? If you are waking up high then your basal is likely needing to be...
I can relate to this a lot - I was running high for months and was so scared to see my diabetic doctors and nurses! But they were very understanding and did not judge me at all - if you're honest you can get the problem solved!
Hiya! Reading your post was like a flashback for me - I first decided to cut out all those sort of foods too but a year later I said screw if, I'm going to eat all the popcorn, cookies, chocolate I want! I used to go through share bags of chocolate easily and my levels went very high. Please...
Hi I'm 18 and was diagnosed 3 years ago - I know being a teenager it's particularly hard because you see all your friends stuffing themselves with junk and partying and drinking while we always have to think about what we are doing. It does get easier you find your way and you'll get through it!
Hi all - levels slowly coming down by increasing my lantus and giving more insulin to overcome the illnesses. I went to the doctors and got a stronger dose to prevent the hives but I may have to go back and get a stronger dose as one tablet isn't doing enough!
Hi all
I went on the DAFNE course and they changed me to levemir but I didn't like this as it made my levels go high and my clinic thought it was wrong for me to change too.
So now I'm back on lantus and still having high readings even though I don't feel like they are high. Sometimes I think...
Hi all!
I'm going on the DAFNE course next week and I'm so nervous! I was wondering if anyone could give some tips or advice and share their experience?
