I have a half pen and am still honeymooning, when I drink I don't take any insulin, it stops the overnight hypo

As an orthopaedic nurse, having looked after many patients with the complications of poor management, that's all I need!!

I inject the top and side of thigh and occasionally get the sting and bruised felling. About once a week I get a bruise too, I also use 4mm!

I think the dr is wise to not put it down to a hypo, something could be missed, like low blood pressure, and do we not always feel they put everything down to diabetes!![emoji12]

Mines 3.5, in the think like a pancreas book it tells you to inject and eat then start to test every 30mins (i waited till 2 hours) then when the reading level out is your active time.

All back to normal today x bm 6.7 yay!!

Dear all thank for kind responses, I changed the cartridge last night so will do normal doses today. My sugars have no pattern and no reason s for why they are as they are at the moment. My dsn couldn't work them out so maybe this was why!! I will let you know [emoji12]

My insulin needs have doubled today, I do feel quite **** and have an increasing bm despite all the extra insulin. I have changed my cartridge and found a crack in it and this morning I had s synacthen test for Addisons. Has anyone had either?? Would the crack make the insulin ineffective? Any...

I've done similar and left everything at home!! Not ideal but I just took it when I got in, try to have a low carb or carb free options. It's really hard at first , I'm 10 months in and still making the same mistakes!! Just go easy on yourself x Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

Thanks for all your responses, by blood sugars run between 6 and 9 on the whole my 30 day AV is 7.9. I'm 9 months in which feels a long time I m still adjusting. I have managed to avoid some bugs but this one has floored me, still tired now 2 weeks on. Going away next week may be the best...

I'm on day 2 with mine[emoji12] love it! I'm reading 0.5-1 lower and although have had a spike with breakfast didn't finger prick at the time. I feel like a new woman, back in control!
