    Mounjaro with T1

I have a fantastic team. I have just asked for a private prescription. Fingers crossed it gets the okay. BMI of 33 I'll keep you posted.

    Type 1 & Mounjaro

Has anyone had the "okay" from their GP to take Mounjaro as a Type 1? I am happy to pay privately, but I understand a letter is sent to your GP to ensure you have no medical contradictions. I'm aware of some Type 1's in the US are successfully taking it alongside insulin... I really want to give...

Type 1 Could I Have Coeliac Disease

I have been type 1 for 8 years. For the last 3 weeks I have been following a low carb diet to try & improve my bg control. I am on a pump & I'm using the libre. The libre is amazing, it has given me so much insight into my glucose readings & helped me make the decision to try a low carb diet. I...

Help with basal time block on insight

I think you have to use the 360 programme that came with your pump. It has to be installed on your pc. I could be wrong, I've only been on the insight pump for 2 weeks but I changed my basal rates last Wednesday with my DSN on a laptop using the 360 programme.

    Antidepressants and diabetes

I've been taking Sertraline for over a year, for stress, anxiety & depression. Before the antidepressants my blood sugars were always so high; the higher they were the more anxious I got & the more anxious I was the higher my bloods! It was truly awful. The sertraline has definitely helped. My...

    Question about insulin

I take my insulin before my breakfast & before my lunch but if I'm having a heavy meal or eating out & I may not eat everything or I'm unsure of the quantities I will be given, I will take my insulin after so I can calculate my isulin correctly.

    Appalling Advice from my GP!

I had a reply from my DN today. As I expected, I had been given incorrect advice from my gp & she has had to write up an incident report to ensure the gp is given more teaching on the importance of a new needle for every insulin injection. My needle prescription is now at 200 every 4 weeks...

    Appalling Advice from my GP!

I feel a bit better for my post now. To be honest I was feeling a little silly for making an issue but it looks like there are some like minded people out there that think the reuse of needles is not okay.

    Appalling Advice from my GP!

Well, after reading everyone's responses to my post, I did a little research & even though the needle manufacturers quote "for single use only" & previous advice from my DN & other Diabetic specialists, many diabetics reuse their needles with no issues other than a little increased pain. I stand...

    Appalling Advice from my GP!

I do have a DN who is based at my local hospital. I will definitely be contacting her on Monday. If I'm honest, I'm quite shocked by many of the comments to my thread. Not only does a reused needle cause bruising or possible infection but I'm positive blood could coagulate in the needle & cause...

    Appalling Advice from my GP!

Yesterday I went to my GP to ask for an increase on the quantity of needles I am prescribed (my current prescription is 100 needles every 4 weeks which equates to 3.5 needles each day). As a minimum I use 5 needles per day or 140 needles in a 4 week period (I use levemir twice a day & Apidra 3...
