Is this a phenomenon anyone has? (caffeine-reactive hypoglycaemia)

I remember starting the thread, and I don't exactly want to delete it. But I still am unable to believe that I did. You ever get like that? I would rather disable my account without deleting it (so my follies can be left in the public record until DDM decides to delete them) at this stage...

Is this a phenomenon anyone has? (caffeine-reactive hypoglycaemia)

I cannot believe for even one half of one second that I even created this thread.

Does vegetarianism help lower blood sugar?

    That's lacto and ovo-vegetarians respectively.

Does vegetarianism help lower blood sugar?

Meat actually has minimal carbs in the form of glycogen, not zero. I think it's maybe 3 or 4 grams out of the entire diet (make it 10 if you are having liver) if the entire diet is supplied from meat.

    Type 2 Coffee and...?

I don't know, maybe they mean diet controlled but so poorly they should be using insulin?

Type 1 Diabetic - Obese and addicted to food

Because they want to do anything except believe that the pathology of hyperadiposity is caused by chronic overdosing of insulin (carb-fat diets, low fat in the susceptible also, cortisol, and fructose abuse) and that alone. Even the "leptin resistance" (in reality, it's another signal that...

    Reversal or Remission

Would agree in effect but disagree in terminology. If you don't have the pathology (hyperinsulinemia, hyperglycemia, complications thereof), in my crazyworld opinion, you don't have the disease per se. You have a food intolerance that, if untreated, leads to the disease. (and some people do...

    Worried about ketoacidosis

I know this. I also know that there is no ketoacidosis without ketosis. It's in the name - ketoacidosis is an acidosis caused by free-running production of ketones, whether from fat (diabetes and starvation), alcohol, or from ingesting exogenous ketones.

Does vegetarianism help lower blood sugar?

whether you are lacto-ovo vegetarian or total vegetarian is largely irrelevant to your blood sugars (as long as you don't have a weird allergy to the foods you're eating on the different diets that makes you more insulin resistant). what's relevant is the glycemic load. give david unwin a ring...

    Worried about ketoacidosis

Have you been assessed for anti-beta cell/anti-insulin type antibodies?

    Worried about ketoacidosis

Gliflozins make your kidneys waste out glucose at a lower blood sugar than they usually do (5 or 7 instead of 10 or 14). As a side effect, they lower insulin, and if insulin gets too low, ketosis runs unchecked and you get ketoacidosis

Protein how much is too much?

that beef mince would be 80% lean matter. lean meat matter is usually 20% protein. Unless you have some neurological kaplowy, too much protein is only a concern if you have a rare liver disorder that makes it toxic, or you get to over 40% of your TDEE as protein.

What is the best diet a diabetic should be on?

The one that's easiest to cover with the medication you're using (if you are a type 1 diabetic). For type 2s it's the one that creates the least increase in glucose. Usually, the two diets are pretty similar. Could I interest you in an omelette?

cgm libre unwanted truths in blood sugar management

when I used Libre it always showed me about 1 mM lower during the night than during the day and I think that is a function of sensor compression.
