I was diagnosed almost exactly two years ago so I don't believe that I'm going through the honeymoon period since I already went though it a few months after I was diagnosed.@catapillar and @EllsKBells.
About a week ago I thought I'd try two days of going low carb and not blousing and it seemed to me to work quite well apart from a few morning lows.
I wanted to know if it's possible to do that longer term because that would mean only 1 possibly 2 injections per day.
Has anyone else tried...
So I know I haven't been on the forum for a very long time but it's because my diabetes management has been going very well recently.
So 2 weeks back my diabetes behaved itself so well that 1 hour after meal my blood sugars were 5.0 and didn't go low my ratio was so good and I thought I'd...
Well done I have terrible control but have an excellent hba1c of 5.1 - 8.0 in all the time I've been diagnosed I achieved 5.1 but by having about 5 hypos a day and injecting every time I went high, but yeah congratulations on your hba1c.

I'm having problems with high blood sugars before meals and then my post Neal blood sugars are usually fine but then about 4 hours after I eat my blood sugars goes up to about 11.
So whenever I don't have rapid acting insulin in me and I'm relying on lantus my blood sugar rises!!
It's very...
@mist you better be careful with your highs above 20! That's asking for trouble in the long term I would much rather a 2.5 than a 20!!
Don't put yourself nore at risk of a slow and painful death I would put yourself a little closer to a quick death but just hope it dosen't happen and then you...
@catapillar I've spoken to them but everytime I do they just seem to put it off and say lows are dangerous they don't seem to care about highs.
When I wasn't managing it well when I was newly diagnosed I was rarely below 12 for about 2 months and they didn't care much but the lows they were on...
Now even I realise I'm getting stupid but for some reason I still can't stop what I'm doing.
I am aiming for non diabetic blood sugars and if I am even slightly out of that range on the high end then there is nothing I can do and I feel so useless that I haven't done better!
Lows feel good to...
Ok so I don't know where to start really.
Well everytime my blood sugar goes high even above 7.5 I start to feel very anxious and it is disturbing my everyday life because I am constantly checking to make sure I'm not above that and if I'm 8 for example I'll inject 4 units of insulin because...
I get it so much I really do, I feel upset everyday with diabetes because I think about my future im high all the time despite putting 100% in. I've made a difficult decision to give up on diabetes and live the next 15 years of my life happy :)
I'm not saying you should do this because I want...
A lot of people get complications from diabetes after being 95%! Even after comrolling it well!
The only way to have a good chance of guarding yourself from complications of type 1 is to be 100% and have no fun and also have a few lows here and there to keep yourself away from the highs. People...
I hate it when my blood sugars are always high and I just know that one day I will be told that I am ill with complications of diabetes!!
For the last week they have been uncontrollable and I've spoken to my diabetic team and they just said do corrections and in 4 hours it will be down!! Well...
