    Blood sugar after eating

Thank you! My morning reading has always been higher than others. I read that it's always the last one to come down too so for the moment I am concentrating on which foods I can tolerate during the day and getting those readings down.

    Blood sugar after eating

Hi all, I am trying to get my blood sugar back on track after getting an hba1c result of 8.6%. My question is, if your sugar is high before eating then as long as the result two hours after eating is no more than 2 points higher is that food ok? For example, before breakfast I was at 10.6...

    False postive latarel flow tests

It's highly unlikely. I don't go anywhere apart from walking the dog, had no symptoms, husband and kids take twice weekly tests for work and school which are all negative and there have been no positive cases at either place for months, plus my PCRs are negative.

    False postive latarel flow tests

Yes, doesn't matter how long it's been, an hour or all night, there's still a faint line. Very frustrating!

    False postive latarel flow tests

I was reading about that, and some people saying cola causes positive results, made me wonder if my one can of diet coke a day may have an affect on my saliva. Apparently the gold standard is a PCR test so I'm more inclined to believe my negative results from those, but the positive LFTs have...

    False postive latarel flow tests

Has anyone else has false positive covid laterel flow tests? Mine are always positive but PCRs are negative. I can't keep isolating every time I take one as I have to get PCRs through the post and the whole process takes nearly a week. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Morning glucose

That's interesting, thanks. My greyhound tried dragging me off after a squirrel too which got the adrenaline pumping

    Morning glucose

Ahh ok, I thought it should have been lower as exercise usually lowers glucose. I had never thought to tests straight after walking before, only 2 hours after breakfast which I eat when I return, and my bs is always at a good level. Been diabetic for years now and still learning new things!

    Morning glucose

I have been going for walks in the morning before breakfast. This morning I thought I would test when I got home and I had shot up from 6.1 (when I first got out of bed) to 9.8! Would it be better for me to eat before I walk?

    Testing Foods

How many times do you all test after eating a new food? If it doesn't spike you too high do you take that as something you can eat regularly and not test it again? For example, I have discovered that one slice of toasted seeded bread for breakfast doesn't affect my sugar so can I assume...

    Reusing test strips

Oh that's good to know. Will be receiving my new strips tomorrow, phew! There's nothing like the moment of panic when you see a stupidly high number is there.

    Reusing test strips

I requested it too early and it is going through to Echo tomorrow. I had a period of being uncontrolled up until last May and begged for a prescription so I could test and find out what I could and couldn't eat. I'm expecting them to stop soon though.

    Reusing test strips

I'm just on metformin and have been well controlled for over a year now. Was silly to try it really, serves me right for being curious!

    Reusing test strips

Hi all, I ran out of test strips a couple weeks ago and waiting for a prescription to be issued. I found a test strip on the floor which must have missed the bin, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try it. Result was 17.5mmol I haven't seen a number that high for over a year and...
