    Disappointing results.

I don't want to be judgmental but such advices are not always helpful. I guess many of us can hear - 'these glucose level numbers are great, I wouldn't expect you to go any lower' well I think it is still good to have ambition and motivation to improve further and go lower...the point is that...

    Pre-diabetes and Continuous Glucose Monitoring

I personally use CGM by Dexcom One and find it extremely useful. It gives you direct and continuous information about your glucose level, which is impossible with other methods. Many people say that CGM is the greatest invention helping diabetes since the discovery of an insulin, and I tend to...

    Exercising while fasting

I recently have come across this video and found it useful: They discuss how to offset your glucose level by eating fat and or protein before excercise.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Hi. I was just scrolling to see different results out of curiosity, and indeed your results are astonishing. Can you share any advice how you can manage your glucose levels so efficiently? Any particular diet or/and tricks how to use insulin?

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

My recent HbA1c is 42. I know that it sounds great but slightly worse than my two previous years where I got 39 and 38. For the past 9 months I'm most of the time on very low carbs and virtually no insulin. This perhaps elevated the results. TIR is pretty much 99% except occasional beer...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Hi, Just spotted it. I'm managing T1 with low car diet + excercise. I think that it would be great to connect and exchange experience.

    Keto with T1 diabetes

Hi Jane. Thank you, and congratulations, sounds amazing. Presumably you use now much less insulin?

    Keto with T1 diabetes

Thank you everyone for replying. The replies bring hope and joy, and it is great to hear that keto/low carb works for many people. A little update from my side. Since my original post in April 2024, I've tried to stick to low carb, with some on and off periods....Off (low carb) periods were...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

    Keto for nine years...really impressive!

    Confused Newbie

Thanks, looks like a good read. Yes, I agree that CGM is less accurate but that's why I've started calibrating it with fingerprick tests (not sure if all modeels have this option, I have Dexcom one and they neabled this option only a year ago or so). This is a great feature, and usually by...

Is it possible to have LADA/1.5 with high C peptide?

Thank you for your quick reply, indeed very interesting topic, and good to hear your update (and positive news). When citing 'complete remission for T1' please note that this term usually refers to remission at limited perdiod of time, and it can extend for many years (in rare cases) but as far...

    Confused Newbie

Thanks, very useful paper. Do you know any literature on individuals wearing CGMs and on low carb diet or keto?

Is it possible to have LADA/1.5 with high C peptide?

To some extent, I have a similar situation. It is not easy to maintain my glucose level without any insuline, but if I eat really low carbs (near or full ketosis) and exercise regularly, my averaged glucose based on CGM is 6 mmol/L. I thought I was in a honeymoon phase, but it has been 3 years...

    Confused Newbie

I might be overreacting, but these readings are not entirely normal for a healthy person. Unless the person was eating lots of carbs/sugars with high GI, or been releasing a lot of cortisol etc.

    COVID vaccine

Hi all. Just to add from my side. I was diagnosed in December 2021 just after my Pfizer jab. I was always in a relatively good shape, 37 at the time, no history of diabetes in my family. I try not to think about it, but I can not stand someone saying that the Covid vaccines are safe. I'm not...
