    Best personal current bank account?

Starling is the best bank I've ever had. I am not sure on all the details that you want but it's definitely one to look into. All on the app, instant notifications of transactions, nice easy ways to have pots of money saved which count towards your total balance. Really quick customer service...

Diabetes symptoms after insuline injection in non-diabetic

The only way to find out if the hot flushes and other symptoms are to do with glucose is to test. A finger prick tester can be cheap. If you test before eating and then 2 hours after you'll have a good idea of how your body is coping with it. I don't think it'll answer your main question but I...

    Freshwell App

I am not sure who mentioned this in a post on here recently but I downloaded it and have finally had a look. I think it's a really good resource to introduce people to the idea of low carb. The text is straightforward and easy to understand. The science is explained clearly and again in a...

    Stress and HAB1c

I find it does. Had a really stressful week last week and bg was higher each morning than has been in a while. One thing I personally do is never have my work emails on my phone. I haven't ever been asked to, but I would refuse. I only check my emails when at work or doing eork at home on my...

    Type 2 relatively newly diagnosed

Rice is bad! Well, it is for me. Even brown rice spikes my blood sugar. Have you got a blood glucose monitor, your new best friend. Check at first mouthful and 2 hours after. If its 2 higher or more then its worth looking at your meal as it contains carbs that you can't process well.

    Type 2 relatively newly diagnosed

Firstly, welcome. Metformin is almost certainly not going to do that by itself. It doesnt directly bring down blood sugar. Many people on here have used a low carb diet to reduce blood sugar. What does your diet look like at the moment? Are there any carbs you could get rid of? It's the best...

    Help and advice needed please

Not sure about that but personally, I'd use the app if you have one to contact doctor and get your husband to lay it all out just like you have here. I find it a useful way to say everything you want without feeling like you're using your your appt time! Also, with or without a diabetic nurse...

    Feeling weak

There could be all sorts of reasons and we can't diagnose. However, if you give us a bit more detail we might be able to help you consider the reasons and suggest what to ask the gp or DN. What was your hba1c at diagnosis and what have you been eating to manage the numbers? Also, what meds are...

Cucumber slices and mint make a lovely drink. Often have a jug in the fridge in summer. Bung them in... done!

    Needles

The pharmacy you use will also have a good idea of what is available. But as you need the DR to prescribe that would be a good place to start.

    Started Metformin today

I have IBS and was OK after a few weeks. I didn't have huge side effects and then 3 years later my stomach went a bit bonkers. Apparently that can happen. I moved to slow release but there isn't much difference. Taking them with food is a good way to reduce gastro side effects.

How often should I have blood tests?

Went to my DN today and he asked me when I wanted my next test! I said three months and he booked it there and then. Seems a good one!

New to insulin type 2 diabetes

You shouldn't lose it at all. You need to inform them but that's it. There's a leaflet I just found on the DVLA if you Google diabetes and driving which seems quite informative with a quick scan.

    Overweight and sweat rash

A very long time ago I worked in a hospital and very often patients with areas such as you describe had caneston prescribed for those areas. My mum also had issues and used a similar cream. It seemed to give her some relief
