    Omnipod 5 emergency run out

Doers your son not have insulin pens as a backup? Everyone who uses any kind of pump should have, as they are not 100% guarantee to work or yeah if you run out If not you should be able to ring 11 and they should be able to sort out an emergency prescription (or get doctor to call you) - and I...

WHY WHY O WHY DOES THE NHS BUYING PEAPLE

Some do just need more insulin than others, I know when I went on a carb counting course in 2019, one person there needed 1 unit per 2 or 3 carbs eaten (whilst another only needed 1 unit per 50 carbs), you cant just assume everyone uses 1unit per 10, I know I need more than that Different...

You also need to remember that she will get highs and lows - and it is NOT NOT NOT a failure - its just happens and at various times there is diddly-squat you can seemingly do, I know I've seem people in these forums panicing when they go over 10 and seeking perfection - well with T1 for most...

WHY WHY O WHY DOES THE NHS BUYING PEAPLE

Personally speaking if I had pre-loaded cartridges I'd be probably wasting a lot of insulin, I use the smaller of the Medtronic reservoirs - the 1.8ml one, but I still never fill it, normally I only put in about 1.1ml per reservoir otherwise it'd last 5 days or so (I normally use about 30-35...

    The good old days, weren't.

Dunno, I was only about 9 or 10 (I think) when blood testing kits came in, and those things were more like guillotines for your fingers than anything else - I wonder what started my hatred of those finger prick tests ......... (I'm pretty sure my parents had aright fight trying to get me to do...

    Frustration at Libra 2 Plus

If its constantly showing low or a lot lower than it actually is (compared to blood tests) change it now - dont wait, it sounds faulty, change it now - Abbott will replace it (I dont use Libre's so not sure if you have to phone or use the web or an app, but you will be able to - was phone last...

Simplera sync supply & pump choice

May be worth finding out if they'd start you off on the 780g with the G4 sensors instead - I know I'm somewhere on the list to get my 780g upgraded to use the 'Simplera Syncs' (am currently using the G4's) - but that's now on hold til the supply issues are sorted (no ETA)

    Gram Flour

Onion bhajis are awesome I probably have some insulin for them, but not a lot as there's generally not too much gram flour on them anyway (well unless they're really awesome and I have a lot :))

Type 1 Diabetes Contact Dermatitis - PUMP

I also find that I have skin issues on my stomach for the infusion kits and sensors (Medtronic), and only my stomach, anywhere else is fine. Mine isnt too bad though so I use a barrier spray to help when I have the infusion kits there (I have the sensors on my arms)

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

The G4's do require a transmitter and I'm pretty sure those are pricey - especially if only going to be used briefly rather than for their full years worth, maybe thats why

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

I know I got an email this morning saying that the rollout has been delayed for those of us still waiting, so yes I was a bit disappointed about it since I do have quite a few G4 failures, but I guess I may be lucky I'm still on the G4's since they say there is no problem supplying them

    Case for Pens etc

They can last upto about 30 days out of the fridge - you only keep them in the fridge when not in use to extend their life (to their use by date rather than 30 days) - you don't really want to use them straight from the fridge anyway because it can sting You only really need a cooled pouch/bag...

I CAN’T TAKE THIS NO MORE!!!

Similar for me, I know my control when I was younger was well 'god-dam awful' - and thats the polite way of putting it!, during my A-levels my HbA1c was at 92 (that an average of about 14mmol/l!!!) And yeah aiming for perfect control is just not a good idea, for many of us it just will not...

Information on Pumps for my Son

You still need to enter the carbs, I mean it might eventually get you down without doing so and without eating anything else, but it may well take all day to deal with one meal (of course it may depend on the person) I mean it does its best - but they're not that good yet, but I know if I forget...
