    Odd Insulin injection reaction.

I have a lovely big roll I inject into, I call it my baby pouch as its never shrunk back after pregnancy. No way did I hit muscle. Nurse specialist suggested if I'm ever injecting again and it hurts then stop, change needle and start again

    Odd Insulin injection reaction.

This morning when I injected my Lantis insulin it hurt like buggery the whole time and then I got a large white lump like half a golf ball which has slowly disappeared and gone soft again. I felt sick, shivery and shaky by the time I got to work and I'd gone from 8 to 4.8 within an hour even...

Are you on any medications? High fasting can be an indication you need help with medication

Did I teach my body to behave like this?

My mother is a serial dieter, her weight has always yo-yo'ed up and down the same 20 odd Kg( 4 stone) and I always felt there was no point as without dieting I have the same figure. I have been recently diagnosed and my mother is still pre diabetes so maybe all those diets helped her. Her...

    Type 2 med worries

Are you drinking enough? Metformin often causes diahorrea rather than constipation which can be caused by dehydration. Also do you have any blood sugar readings? Both highs and lows can cause sweats.

    BG level too low?

The meds you are on shouldn't create the low. Statin is usually for high cholesterol and metformin helps with insulin resistance and can assist weight loss. How often are you monitoring blood sugars? If a result doesn't make sense do it again. I had a 1.2 last week and re measuring moments...

    Missed insulin dose.

My highest readings are often my fasting reading, my insulin dose is a 24 hour long acting dose. I take it first thing in the morning as it needs to be taken same time every day. I use my alarm clock. Overnight I go into the 8's but by morning it has risen to about 11 or 12. After breakfast I...

    Feeling Lightheaded and Shaky?

What insulin are you using? Is it a slow release long acting one or short acting one? Your doctor may have used the terms basal or bolus

    Missed insulin dose.

Satindoll it sounds like you are trying to use your basal as a bolus.

    Missed insulin dose.

Lantis is long acting for basal function and should be taken at the same time each day. Once my fasting level is below 9 on a daily basis I will start on bolus insulin, before meals, but the basal needs to be right first.

    Missed insulin dose.

Yeah and having one auto immune makes you more susceptible to others... Now I'm wondering what next. It's a lovely feeling that your body is self destructing.

    Missed insulin dose.

Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults. Type 1 but it has a much slower onset in adults. It is more common to get type 1 in childhood to teen years.

    Type 1: Chinese Takeaway

Sweet and sour sauce and honey lemon sauce are full of sugar. Fried rice is very high carb and fat. Go for something with loads of veges and unbattered meat. Chicken cashew nuts and beef ginger would be my picks, they are basically stir fries.
