I had never tried this drink before but recently had a hypo whilst out and needed a quick fix of sugar. Looking at the labels (or rather getting my friend to as my vision was going funny) Mountain Dew had the highest amount so I tried that one.
It worked quite well and I would probably go for...
That may be true although the reasons people who are type 1 do what they do vary. Maybe she is not hypo aware I just don't know, however at this point that conversation just distracts from the point that the police owed her a duty of care, they witheld insulin and then water from her and refused...
^^^This!! You owe no explanation as to why or if you should have been there. Those on duty owe you a duty of care. Breaking the law as a type 1 (not saying you did, just making a point) is not justification for witholding life preserving medication.
Echoing what others have said, PLEASE do...
In this current heat wave I have enjoyed turning the heat of my showers down to a cooler temperature that feels pleasant and refreshing though not cold. As for the theory that it is good to feel uncomfortable and suffer, erm...as a person with peripheral neuropathy who has been in constant pain...
Oh yikes! First off good luck with your extraction. Are you being sedated? When I had my wisdom teeth out at the hospital I was drugged and they managed to get them out despite having broken off. It took very little time to actually do and not really long enough to develop a hypo. They did get...
I have the flex pens and when I compare them to my reusable pen for my bolus insulin they are rubbish. I keep meaning to get switched over to the cartidges.
I wish I could offer some advice that could help, I know just how frustrating this issue is to deal with. The problem with fatigue is that it is a symptom that can be caused by so many different things. It also is a symptom that those without experience of it just can't understand as they can...
I do have low vitamin D levels and in fact just got prescribed a supplement to take for it. Many people in the UK are deficient in vitamin D at least in the winter months from what I understand so it's certainly wise to get that test done if you can :)
Oh it really is so frustrating! My chronic fatigue came on severely after being hospitalised with a severe DKA. Initially I thought it was just a matter of needing to recover from the drama of it all but as the weeks turned to months that just didn't happen. I also developed peripheral...
Hi, yes the CoQ10 is interesting. I now take the ubiquinol version but to add to your point, many diabetics (of whichever type) seem to be prescribed statins which as I understand it can interfere with levels of CoQ10. I personally refuse to take them (statins) and considering my last blood test...
In the study it was pointed out that the fatigue was not as a result of high or low blood glucose levels. Sorry if that wasn't clear. 40% is quite a significant proportion and I think the point was to show that there is an increrased risk among type 1's that should be looked into? As someone who...
I've been battling chronic fatigue since 2007 and over the years have been serarching to find out how diabetes impacts fatigue (beyond the initial high blood glucose symptom). I found this study that might help others dealing with this issue.

Oh I agree, that's why I suggested taking a break and focusing on getting used to dealing with the diabetes for now. I had been a T1 for a couple of years before I tried cannabis for the first time and had been a T1 for a good few years before I started smoking it with any regularity.
