Hello, my name is Margaret (but Maggie is fine!)
I'm almost 72, I'm married to Eric, who I met on a blind date 41 years ago and we will be celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary in July (2016)
I was diagnosed with Diabetes TII about 5 years ago, 10 years after my 1st HA.
Though I have regular Retinopathy checks I was found to have cataracts so they were dealt with 3 years ago.
I had a 2nd HA on my 70th Birthday which resulted in a triple Bypass and I now feel absolutely fab!
I have to admit, the 2nd HA helped me look into the diabetes more and stopped me smoking (after 52 years) Now I am a lot more cautious about what I eat and when and I am saving money by not smoking, a win-win situation!
No serious problems as yet so, fingers crossed, I can keep it that way.

Too many to list! Love Europe, France and Spain regulars - visited every Scandi country - used to have a home in Savannah, GA USA. Travel is huge part of our life, especially as recently bought 4 seater plane so hops to Europe very easy.

Probably comfortable, although it feels like asset rich cash poor at time - but then again what is wealthy? I run my own design business so have the luxury of flexible working. Appreciate that more than a mega huge pay cheque.

- Do you work? If so, as what?
Run my own interior design and build business - and own rental properties. Previously worked in the City - paid lots, bored senseless!

- What do you like most about yourself?
I dive in and tackle anything. When I was 19 I had cancer in my knee. I had chemo and lost my leg mid thigh - I learnt to walk again in 6 weeks. This determination defines me.

- What do you like least about yourself?
Procrastination - especially when you've been diagnosed with diabetes and spend way too long on this forum
