I may have other meds but I'm not properly medicated as blood glucose has been messing with me. Previously was hypo, now has rises up to 10-11mmol. I took a sneak peak on my result before my doctor quickly takes it back (haha). I'm still in disbelief but I'm still going back and forth for checking. Checking for UTI's and skin conditions. (I've been having rashes from either food allergy or heat not sure... )

Anyways... I'm under doctors care so I'm not really gonna go deep into that yet, I'm just updating. When I saw it went sort of high, (sort of ? ) I know my family didn't know, only few of my friends know but I kept imagining how sad it would be if the moment I am warded, my family won't be there and after seeing so many of my friends getting married and be asked "when is it my turn?" I doubt I can have a long term relationship or even a relationship because would you ever think a guy wants me just because I have diabetes and living a lie?

I do not want to tell my family well cause they are jerks before this. You see where I'm going with this?

ooooohh awwhh I've been dealing with wedding fever, I want to be in love to....

Oh pls understand, in my mind its been like : scratching and peeing, scratching and peeing, scratching and peeing...

Sorry but why do you think you can never have a long term or any relationship

Oh thanks for replying me cause it just feels sad that you've been chronically ill for long time. In life, has been successful despite illness but I'm not the type of person who likes to think negatively cause I know true guys would be there for your hardship every time and like I said if talking about my illness with my family has always been a burdened then I don't want anyone whom I date with to feel the same way so if I want a relationship, I have to keep on being in diabetic secrecy. which is obviously be like living a lie. i don't want to hurt anybody, i dont want anyone to think I like to whine. sometimes whenever someone talks about being in romance, i got so anxious I kept thinking diabetes brings death. i have no idea, but my friends didn't know why I keep denying their date request though.

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
Oh crikey!!
Have some hope, please!!

I met and married my hubby within 6 weeks of meeting him. I was T1 and riddled with pain at the time. Twenty years on. So happy.

Forget family, and live!! Enjoy yourself.. And do things, socialise and donMt give up!!

Incidentally, best thing I did. Love him to pieces and I know its returned 10 fold! My problems have certainly worsened in last 20 years and he is still my gorgeous, lovely, caring man that I married when I was in relatively good health compared to now!!

I am sure you will find someone who will not mind in the least that you have diabetes and you will have a happy relationship . How do your family react when you mention your diabetes as you say talking about it with them has always be a burden. Diabetes is not something you should have to be secretive about it is such a common illness now and if well controlled it should not impact on your life to much

When I was 21 and dating a girlfriend, I got Type 1 diabetes.
We had no secrets so I made no attempt to deceive her about it. She stuck by me and we married less than a year later.
If someone is not prepared to stick by you, warts and all, IMHO they are not worth knowing.
I am 64 now and my wife and I are still together. I have a daughter and lovely two grandchildren.
Life has been good.

exactly, if i were to be secretive I have to keep my sugar levels safe. i did not tell my family about my current update but I told them the process. they say that I'm "mocking my failures, hypochondria, made fun of my weight, having a devil inside of me.. etc...." :pompous:

Hi, I have had Type 1 for 27 years. As my child got older, a friend talked about me trying dating sites, I did, eventually. Some men were not so nice about my medical condition and even blanked me. But this year, I met someone who didn't bat an eyelid at diabetes, plus I have other auto immune conditions and does he everything he can to understand what I have to do and he keeps glucose tablets in his car and on himself at all times, he has even injected me, so they're are some nice ones out there who can see pass the condition. It was difficult and very frustrating at times and I nearly gave up so many times.
It does start with yourself, stand tall, keep your chin up and someone out there will love you for who you are, you have to like and love yourself first. and the rest will follow.
Good luck and all the best, take care x
ps, I was on my own( single) for over a decade with my now teenager.

hiya, sorry for the "negativity" as I'm very new. When I was at the wedding I had someone who told me.. when a wedding make up artists wanted to edit my make up after a friend of mine accidentally put my make up wrongly that is (i'm a bridesmaid I had a blast), she said I look better without it. I am so blessed for hearing that. I may look pale but pale is good. At least it doesn't do anything with my appearances yet. I have to be grateful for that. And I've been praised so well saying "I'm a good listener and a very friendly person..." as in literally so friendly despite having people asking me "when's my turn to get married..." I have no idea how am I so recognisable, not saying I'm a celebrity wannabe lol but you know when at weddings or meeting acquaintances, you have strangers who said hi to you excitably even if you don't really talk much to them. This turns me around. So yeah, I really hope there will be someone who likes me for who I am. If not, maybe in heaven. Hehehe.

Going at this from another angle , Can you get your BG levels from your GP and then address your levels with altering your diet ,taking control of your diet. and your BG levels will help you to have self esteem .Your UTIs etc could be caused by high BG levels Lots of people on this forum have had success with the low carbohydrate higher fat diet Have a look and see if
it would help you

Having a family who are not very nice to you and implying you are just a hypochondriac must be demoralising for you but keep your head high and remember someone will come along and love you for who you are not what you have got and will be lucky to have you. Most people here have partners whether they met before or after the diagnosis of diabetes who take it in their stride and would never dream of not being with them because they have diabetes and I am sure they don't feel sorry for them all the time they just love them for who they are
