@Fairygodmother Going backwards is irksome isn't it?? I got a new iphone as I was using up my memory fast on mine. I took it back. It has facial recognition instead of a finger print and swiping instead of a button. I could get used to the no button, you swipe instead, but I don't necessarily see the improvement. One button push and you went back to the home screen. Part of the time on the new one you swipe to get the bar to swipe or it doesn't swipe and you are swiping again and then getting the wrong screen coming up................but okay I could adjust.
But the facial recognition? You have to pick up your phone so it recognizes you, then swipe the screen and find out if it did, if it didn't wait a second for the keypad to come up. Or keep swiping the screen to try and find out it didn't and you have to swipe again. And different face masks no way..............night time, 50/50 shot at it. Who wants to pick up your phone and hold it in front of your face in the middle of the night? Someone said it's because of mask wearing now, but no it's picking it up and going through more steps to turn on your phone. If you turn face recognition off, then you are always entering your code and that would be in front of everyone all the time. Someone told me they leave theirs permanently unlocked, but I don't want to do that either. I'm used to just reaching over and touching the button and on goes my phone. Not having to pick up my phone and in essence using two hands to open it.
The next one in 6 months is suppose to add back a fingerprint scanner. Lots of complaints about it which is why they are putting something similar back. Do they even put these in normal people's hand to find out how they like it?
But wow the camera was sure nice!!!! And the longer battery and huge memory! But it just wasn't worth it for me yet. It was annoying me. 3 steps forward 2 steps back.
PS..Wait for the more accidents as people hold up their phone in front of their face to open it. They will as they aren't even suppose to be driving and using a phone and they text etc anyways...............
Sorry, a rant....but it was aggravating!
