So I’ve been type one for about 16 years now my HBA1c has been between 5.5 and 6.5 but recently has been in the 7 -8 range as I’m struggling with morning highs around 18mmol I have tried to go low carb, high protein but nothing is working to get these sugars under control, my diabetic team are now looking at getting me on a pump since my basal insulin is not working (really bad hypos with extreme highs regardless of the dosage). This is one issue which I am worried is contributing to issues in my body now, so the first one is the other day I was injecting in my thigh but I have some lumps there, after the injection I noticed the skin felt off like when your arm goes to sleep, well fast forward three weeks now and no sensation as come back to the patch of skin around my thigh area, I was reading up on neuropathy and worried this is it, my hands and feet are fine and I have no issues with these areas plus my eyes are healthy so I’m told. I have some ED issues but not sure this is related to diabetes. It’s such so hard to know what I’m doing is right or wrong, I am due to see my doctor about the thigh issue as not sure if it is a pinched nerve from the injection or neuropathy starting. Any advice would be welcome or if anyone has had something similar.
