What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a spiffingly overcast start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Allegedly no rain today - so hooray for that!
5.4 this a.m. on the crystal ball of mystery but not imagination.
Mrs Miggins has her koffy and catchup with old school pals on Mondays so a lazy and unsupervised morning for me.
Chinese cabbage soup for dinner tonight so I have already chopped, soaked, rinsed and cooked a potato. It’s now in the fridge ready for some magical residual starch transformation when it gets chucked into the soup pot this evening.
I hope that you decide that your day will be a good one - this side of the grass is always preferable.
Art bit a splodge of paint. Wonder if my koffy is ready now?

Left the meter alone for a while. I like to think it is economical with the truth sometimes.

I believe it today FBG 6.1. After Sunday menu of bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, with my weekly indulgence of one slice of hovis seeded bread fried, several cups of black coffee, for brunch. Then rump steak and salad and mayonnaise, with two stolen chips and a few alcoholic beverages, I am believing the meter today.

Had to phone the doc out again to Mrs L. I might be being a tad over concenscious, but I don't want her going back into hospital, do I?
Still in low 7s this morning.
Gammon on the go for later.

Funny goings on in the AFCON. Who said football brings the world together, eh? ****** refereees!
Could do with refs being neutral.
could do with Greenland being neutral!
Could do with the president being neutered!

Afcon you say, has he won himself another 'trophy'...mmhh.

Must dig out my old school sack race type medal.

Apparently there is a campaign to send him as many medals as he needs to the white house, asap.

Gotta do our bit, right ...lol.

Fbg a barnstorming 8.4

Bit of a blow out last night, no real reason.

I was good until the chocolate fudge cake Lauren got that displeased her in some obscure way, before she even opened it.

And it started taunting me from the fridge...in a cross between de niro in taxi driver & big jack in a few good men

"You wanna piece of me ! " I heard it sneer.
"You can't handle the cake !! " It snapped as I tried my best to maintain the higher ground.

But even the best of us have limits.

I took a fork and told it to "say hello to my little friend"...

It didn't say much after that..surprisingly

Oh well, YOLO as some say, tho I do believe this might already be my 2nd go around. .

Peace .

He is the same colour as Muttley..... Gimme, gimme, gimme...!

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.8

I have a wonderful day to look forward to, strangers to ( too ) meet, rain to dodge, legs to get treated and re bandaged. Blood tests and best of all is my little naps during the day, ah the joys of retirement.

Now koffy is calling and early morning tea is history.

Regulars readers will wonder where Mrs J is, still sleeping in her pit/lair.

Smile, it costs nothing. Oh know I hear movement
Yes dear, your tea is on its way

@Lamont D and @jjraak

Morning all

A long day at work yesterday.
Lots of here & there ing, dropping bits off, picking bits up.

Slow but crutch helped, (also kindness when using it increases ..learnt to accept graciously when I get offered a seat and to not bristle at the foolish indignity of it )

First go on a tram

Felt like I was in a hovis advert, lad
Took me ages t'start talking proper English again ,init . .lol

So the scores on the doors of 8.0 from the Latvian judges wasn't a surprise.

I'll take comfort at least it's lower than the others days .

In other news busy busy busy few days

New sofa arrives on Thursday
Wednesday I'm driving fil to his friend's wife's funeral Farnham way.

Today is prepping for delivery, organising removal of old sofa
And in a vision or artisty or catastrophe,
(Depending if your talking to the very unsupportive Lauren of Arabia or not..who hates change like a cat hates water )

I'm planning a set of shelving in the skinny and awkward alcove just next to and above where new sofa will sit.

Wish me luck that I get to Friday ...:bigtears:;)

Somewhere in 7s again ish. I did it twice!
I think it was the Danish judge was kind after backing them in the tantrum aftermath.
I don't like to think of naming anyone El Orange. Because of the house of Orange did so much for in our history. And his surname has always the polite way of saying someone is passing wind.
it is windy out there, quite chilly. Wonder if chilly is on his list!
I'm listing my priorities, because we have a lot of more people coming tomorrow to see Mrs L.
Out again today was Mrs L. And another list of shopping done to make the cupboard list a little.
Still couldn't find a certain item. However a smelly, untidy kitchen after a deep clean in there.
That is what I get for not volunteering to cook her tea (dinner) whatever.
Dishwasher full again!
I'm full, even tho I had some gammon, eggs and a tomato.
Tomatoes is big huge beef ones.
once upon a time, I could never see myself as a carer.
take care out there, keep safe and warm and windy.
he just keeps being there. No matter what you post about!
nearly as bad as farager.

my best wishes.

5.8 this morning.
Am really enjoying teaching the new stuff I learned over the long December break.

It is a really huge quantum shift in how I am teaching so It is definitely making me feel quite tired.

I could just snooze on the recliner in the conservatory all day instead of teaching classes.today - although I don't think that would go down well with class members

Good morning everyone on a deliciously quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m. on the gom jabar of deception.
There is an imperceptible difference between the high end of what a food writer may call a pinch and the cliff edge of “oops, hope that’s not too much”. This is quite dramatic when it comes to such condiments as Togarashi - a Japanese seven spice mix that is used just like salt and pepper but with a more dramatic outcome when enthusiasm overtakes reason. Still, there’s a challenge in there somewhere.
Northern lights last night - will I get an image of it attached? Yes!
Eye test this afternoon. Dug out my last prescription which was dated three years ago - oops! I wonder if I will need replacement lenses - can I keep the same frames? The future is unknown.
Hope you can decide to have a good day today - it’s the only one on offer so sprinkle some joy into it.
Koffy - must drink this koffy.

Whoops disaster darlings, disaster.
Mrs J and all of me, me’s and myself overslept till 9:42 this morning and my blood sugars were 10 ish
Unfortunately my day is now running late.
Now I must go.
Have the best day you can and smile at the ducks as they paddle by on what was a road, hmm dinner could be duck, but then I’d drown trying to catch one

6.9 on the Celsius scale, according to the scales of justice I'm not guilty of anything yet.
except, in my opinion, it wasn't my fault..... Well!
A well is full of water, and comes out of the ground.
grounded is what I should be. Due to the fact that it did happen.
happenstance is a great word.
a word to the wise, it wasn't me, as Shaggy said.
Shaggy and Scooby Doo are now #8's favourite.
My favourite is something I can't eat.
Eating is not good for you! Fact!
Gotta go.
Best wishes.
Wishes are horses....... Etc.

Mrs L had more visitors today. And hopefully now we can move forward with more help.
Got more appointments in the next week or so.
One with her psychiatrist, and hopefully a better plan.

Minted lamb chops is Mrs L 's choice. Ribs for me.

Keep warm and watch out for that storm that is coming. Could be snow next week,
It can't be cricket season yet?

Best wishes.
