What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.1 this morning.

It actually wasn't raining on our morning walk with Bonnie - which was rather nice. We are avoiding our waterlogged park and are really lucky that we have plenty of nice walks around us that don't involve muddy paths

Off to classes in Norwich shortly.

Hi @Annb

Nice you have found a solution.

I just wondered if you'd considered or used a watch ?

The reason I ask, is I used to have the old Casio style digital watches

A light inside when you press a button, type

But as my eyes aged the light was just pants

Coincidentally, at about that time I started wearing. Wrist watch tracker type

Bright face, measures heart rate etc
(Very decent and good reviews)

I kept upgrading until my accident, then in the moving everything around to fit an invalid, the charger got lost

Eventually I replaced it, but went for a more common watch face

Nice on the wrist, various faces to choose from, measurements paces etc .

Watch face is off mostly but it lights up when lifting a wrist, or you can turn that off and press a button, nice and bright day or night

It also has a 'torch' option

I used it to turn light off then get into bed safely (no bedside lamp then )

Mines a redmi 5 smart watch.
Circa £25
Others brands available for less or much more £££

Spme can even makes calls, should the need arise

Might be a useful thing if you aren't near your phone and need assistance?

I'm very happy with mine

Morning all.

A steady as she goes, but a far from the promise land of McGarrett plains at 7.4.

It's all my fault , a slip & a slide from good practices to bad...yes your honour, guilty as charged .

But enough if that, off to meet our Steph.
Might be a meal in it too.

So be good might not be too easy, but YOLO, I think is the saying .

Not going to let a nice moment pass by, when I'm never too sure how many are left.

Buenos noches, amigos

Hadn't thought of a watch. I stopped wearing watches when none of mine would fit around my swollen wrists (even with longer straps than usual) but that's a good idea if I can get one with a long enough strap.

I use the 'nato' style military strap.

Seems to have a long ish strap.

I find them a snap to fit when I fancy a colour change.

And comfy, which is important.

Thank yo all for your words (again), without your kind words to cheer me up and give me food for thought, along with the support, I would not have a place to vent or seek opinion.
Many thanks to all especially @jjraak and his better half of course. For the number of times, his composition has blown me away. I wish I could sell them!
I am completely overawed by them there essays, putting Pepys to shame, I believe?

Today, this afternoon, we went out. Mrs L was in no mood to compromise.
A bit of crazy shopping, quite a lot of incorrect words used. A bit of help from nice people and a lot of congratulation from Mrs L. I am completely tired, mentally.

I'm off to bed!
Thanks and my thoughts and prayers will be with you lot tonight.
My bestest wishes.

Well what a day, up at 5:00am, blood sugars at 5:00am, 15 ish, cause hypos at 2:00 am

I had to be in hospital for 7:30am, no medication and operating table at just gone 9:00am. Nothing serious. 4 hours bed rest, lots of giggles and laughs with the staff. My meds were messed around
, but the laughter was free flowing.

Night night

Good morning everyone on another exquisitely quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.3 this a.m., very close to a Dean Martin sing along.
An appointment for next Wednesday. Diabetic Eye Slit lamp Clinic. Sounds like five words plucked at random from a big book containing lots of words but I’m so excited to have been chosen to experience a simulation of the blinding light at the end of the tunnel - if any such tunnel exists.
Art bit - three colours on a dull day.
I hope you are able to navigate the up’s and down’s of the day - I am going to make kofee and then wander into calm seas.

Good happy not national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 9.7

I’m not sure just what is going to happen today, but taking laxatives could give me clue.

Have the best day you possibly can, remember something or other.
Now I must dash.

Blimey @alf_Josiah

They worked fast . :hilarious:

A wet rainy day yesterday with our Steph & boyfriend.

A wet but glorious day.

A meal out & good conversation, just what I needed.

I was over to offer assistance on some DIY

Not able to do much myself, but in 'give a man a fish , or teach a man to fish ' style

My guidance as supervisor helped them get the job done
A nice team effort all round

So the 7.9 barked out by my general Von meter, was understood, but banked with a shrug.

So pleased at how confident she's become

She recently completed the winter walk (an option of run or walk half marathon)

She opted to walk with a friend for a mental health charity.

Raised close to £300...I was so proud of her.

A little pic showing her tired but glowing, I think .

Lovely colours in your painting @dunelm

Hope it goes well @alf_Josiah .
If you can't do, teach, @jjraak . And congrats to Steph for the money raised.

A quieter relaxing day. Mrs L was so tired after yesterday's excursion. The carer decided to give her a day or a few hours more in her pit.
Up and around since 2pm, just when I finished the chores. And half an eye on the cricket.

Could Spurs be relegated? @ianpspurs.
Now there is a thought.
It times of crisis get fat Sam in. Ha!

Best wishes.

5.4 this morning. Have been really busy today but am now relaxing with a coffee.
Rainy day again here, but actually I am pleased it is rain not snow.
It's rained for the most part of the last 36 hours non stop.
Garden is afloat nearly. Could be time to get the blueprints for the arm out again, just in case.
Oh yeah, 7.2. On the barometer needle.

6.9 at 04.15 today.

Finally plucked up courage to weigh myself this morning. Last time I weighed myself (several weeks ago) I was 103.7 kg and I was pretty sure that I have been putting weight on but lo and behold! 103 kg - spot on. Not a good weight but at least not over 104 as I had expected.

Leg bandaging day today so have to organise myself to go out.
