What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a quiet L.A. where there is the appearance of spring but definitely not the weather to match. I did put the new sensor on and fbg was 4.6. - right arm, new sensor so perhaps the last 2 weeks weren't a fluke. We shall see. @alf_Josiah do pass on congratulations to Mrs A J from myself and JKP. @Krystyna23040 good to read that you have a nice long break for lunch. @Annb I hope the recycling does get put out. Our recycling is always much more full than the other two bins as there is so much packaging with online shopping. Have a good Monday Y'all and peace be with you.
It looks like your last sensor was accurate and it definitely wasn't a fluke @ianpspurs.
I did have a lovely relaxing break yesterday. I definitely needed it.

6.0 this morning.
Last night I was really tired after classes and when Mr K asked me if I would like to share a sweet treat with him I immediately said yes.
I have noticed that when I am really tired my willpower goes out the window. At least that is my defence m'lud.

Morning all from a chillier than I would like L.A. I think my fbg was around 3.8 and remained in the 3s until protein sourdough toast and PB did the trick. Bg battle won - but not won enough. @dunelm that was a wonderful vignette from your mother - hopefully delivered deadpan. The Macbeth toastie looks spiffing (toastie thou art and tasty and shalt be what thou doth promise).could be a goer on days when fbg bounces along the bottom. @Krystyna23040 if an fbg of 6 is the worst sharing a treat does then go for it. Enjoy your Tuesday - could be a bumpy ride for a Mr I Tudor out in Madrid with all the boys not picked first in P.E and some with notes from their mum :D

Always deadpan.
If she accidentally bumps into something/someone with her scooter she takes a line from that film Rain Man: “I’m an excellent driver…….excellent driver”.

Pretty sure her stunt double caused havoc in a supermarket one Christmas Eve. Trainers needed all over the place, 30 minutes extra time needed but the lady was helped through the checkout at some speed.

Update on son2
Because of the previous virulent lung infection that nearly succeeded in drowning him ( over 2 litres of fluid drained from his lungs) Son2 has been on an extended course of antibiotics. These had to be cleared from his system and he needed to remain infection free for at least 48 hours before the operation. Which was to be after the MRI scan - and results. However he has been recovering well, so presumably moved down the list for the scan. Which happened this morning. Now waiting for those results but now he has either picked up another infection or the original nasty has returned. Either way,it's more antibiotics and restrictions on visits again. Operation to install ICD not likely for another ten days or so. That's my guess anyway. So certainly not home by the weekend as he was hoping. He is very disappointed. Fortunately there is the new F1 season and six nations to entertain at weekends, but now the hospital has run out of tests to try weekdays are dragging a bit.
Meanwhile back in France MrSlim has the builders in and Helpful Handyman too, but he has fallen foul to some rogue eggs and has been seriously unwell all weekend. He is still not recovered, two flights of stairs were too much today. He was forced to abandon the foolish idea of working when unwell and take a day to rest. He did manage the first cut of the grass - by robot mower, so feels he has achieved something.
My mother has had a "funny turn' late this afternoon. It was some time before she told me about it and even then was minimising what had happened and refusing to call a doctor. In the end I called 111 and we endured over half an hour of questions before being told to expect a call back from a doctor. About 90 mins later the out of hours duty doctor called. Again many minutes of the same questions before the suggestion that Mum should go to A&E. Flat refusal. I'm fine now. Eventually it was agreed that a house call was necessary and so we waited. Three hours. At about 9 30pm she arrived. With a most pleasant and engaging manner she soon got Mum to give her all the details, all the symptoms, including ones she had not told me.
Take the tests and the four aspirin. Lots of reassurance and a plan of action. First test the lifeline emergency pendant. OK it works. Good to know. Tomorrow we will have a call from the TIA clinic to make an appointment. Normally one to three days. Meanwhile no driving. ANY repeat or new symptoms call 999. Mum wasn't happy about that. She has had some very long waits in A&E after falls. Again reassurance, you won't have to wait, the golden hour for treatment applies and if they cant get you into the hospital they will bring the treatment to you in the ambulance.
What a lovely lady, on duty until 1am and says she loves her job.
Its a real blessing i was still here, nearly went home to care for MrSlim on Monday.
Son2 was apparently recovering well, didn't really need his mother hanging around.
Now it's all changed. Different priorities.
I suppose that's what life is. Constant adaptation to the current situation.

Yes you are right @ianpspurs. A 6 after a naughty naughty treat isn't that bad at all.

Hope you didn't feel too bad with th 3.8 yesterday

Thank goodness you were there @SlimLizzy and what a lovely doctor.
Hope your son's operationgoes ahead as planned and the new infection goes quickly, and your mum and Mr Slim are also ok.

Morning all from a sunny but chilly breeze style L.A. My fbg today according to soon to be returned to Abbott sensor was a risible 3.4. Yesterday it was nigh on impossible to make the thing rise out of the low 3s. Neither a Starbuck's hot chocolate - ?33 gms carbs - nor a medium banana - 25 gms moved the dial from 3.4. Phone call to Abbott this morning and replacement will be sent. @Krystyna23040 even if the sensor was accurate being in the 3s has always been fine for me - well, I've never dipped to 3 itself. @SlimLizzy hugs for you, Son #2, Mr Slim and your mum. I will post again once the replacement sensor arrives.

Good happy Wednesday afternoon folks.
Blood sugars llwere 8.1

Here in Tilehurst Towers we have had a full on 3 days

The first day we met up with an old friend and his wife, as I said before the laughter was loud.

The second day, yesterday, I had my legs treated and dressings were changed, but the pain killers I have to take knocked me sideways for the rest of my day, but I did sleep well.

Today, up early, over to the west berks hospital for a follow up appointment after my last skin operation, much laughter and an informative discussion on proper curry’s.

Now home in Tilehurst Towers, with my feet up as instructed by the hospital,
Hopefully I will be able to get out in the garden later this afternoon.

I hope you are all well. Stay safe, and don’t blow raspberries at rude people,
It’s a telling of offence from my carer. Unfortunately no whips or handcuffs will be involved.

7.9 at 05.15 today. I did get up at 01.25 - Libre was yelling at me about something but I couldn't see very well after an hour's sleep. I could make out the word LOW so assumed BG was going into the 3's and I should do something about it. However, once in the kitchen I could see a bit better and the monitor was telling me that its battery was running low. No point recording BG at that point so I left it until I woke up again at 05.15.

When I did wake up I decided to try to get some information from the internet, only to find that it wasn't working, nor was our home phone. I didn't try to call Neil to fix it - he was up and having his supper at about 02.00 so I guessed he would be asleep. He did eventually surface about 10.30 and set the router working again, but it still didn't fix this PC and I've only just managed to get it to connect to the internet. It had lost its connection to the wifi for some reason.

GP yesterday was helpful. Turns out that my lungs still have fluid on them, my heart is enlarged and I need more tests done. First will be a blood test tomorrow when I go to get my legs bandaged. After that an echocardiogram. After that, who knows?

So sorry to hear of all your worries, @SlimLizzy. Your son may get bored - I wouldn't blame him, hospital's are no fun to be hanging around in - but, at least, he is in the right place in the current circumstances and there seems to be a plan in place to help his recovery. Glad that your Mum saw reason over consulting a doctor and that a remedy is in hand. Poor Mr Slim. Glad he saw sense and stopped for a rest but it must have been miserable for him. I hope he is feeling much better now.

Good that are getting a replacement sensor @ianpspurs and good that you are ok when you drop into the 3s

5.2 this morning.
Am at the moment relaxing on my recliner chair in the conservatory. Have had my coffee and am now drinking a mug of my favourite herbal tea - peppermint and liquorice.

Yesterday our Lakeland air fryer broke down. Luckily our 'all singing all dancing' Ninja also does air frying so we don't have to buy another air fryer and we now have more space on the worktop.

9.1 at 04.20 today. Can't take all my pills this morning because it is legs and blood test today. If I take BP pills and diuretics, they wouldn't be able to get blood out of me and, in any case, if I take diuretics, I wouldn't be able to leave the house. Never mind, I can take them when I get home - around 12.30.

Morning all. 4.9 here at 6.40 and 4.6 just now. Tea with almond milk is still my only intake but there will be PB from the Kg tub shortly. The faulty sensor is in the return envelope ready for a postperson to collect. The post office here tends to move location and close regularly. I did notice and comment on the lack of protective inflatable gubbins around the faulty sensor but that may not have been connected. Peace be with you all.
