A local GP has assisted in getting my average reading down mostly between 4 - 8.5. However at cost - Very low carbs. Id like to use a continuous monitor to check out which carbs I can tolerate more of .

I only weigh 47kg . Id like to weigh 49-50kg. Kning which carbs I can use in conjunction with protein , non sat fats to do this. Today I ate out , yesterday a funeral wake. I thought i had chosen suitable food but on both occasions my readings spiked later.
I use Metformin 500 x 2 and 20 units of levemir , ocasional hypo 2.4 - 3.6 few symptoms . CMG help this ?
CMG users might assist by suggesting whether CMG can be used on this. Which and how to go about finding the right one

I think you could learn a lot from a CGM. Both Libre and Dexcom provide a free trial for diabetics. Here are the links:

Abbott usually offer a free 15 day trial of the Freestyle LIBRE 2 plus:

Sampling | Diabetes Care | Abbott

Dexcom also offer a free trial of their Dexcom ONE + here

The Dexcom ONE+ CGM (Continuous Glucose Montoring) system | Dexcom
@Rachox I'll follow this thru. I checked your signature readings. Very impressive . My next test might show 45 , but its with hardly any carbs ,Thanks.

I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the free trials if you can.

Once you have a CGM give some thought to which foods you want to test. I’d recommend recording what you’ve eaten and your response to it.

@Lakeslover Yes certainly , a vital part. Last week I tried this and it showed me something was not quite right. Are there any templates for recording food and readings, Ine aare bit scrappy.

I use an iPhone and can record carbs and insulin using an app called Zukka. But for a more detailed analysis I would also use a spreadsheet. In my personal experience not all carbs have the same result so it’s good to know which ones caused what result.

I am a big fan of cgms. From personal experience they aren't always accurate, particularly when hypo, so I use a glucometer if I have doubts about the cgm reading.

I second @Rachox 's suggestion on the free trials. I am a happy dexcom user. It's not perfect, some sensors fail (always ask dexcom for a free replacement if that happens) but it's much better than a glucometer alone. (Disclaimer I'm T1 so I need my bg to calculate injections amounts.)

Mod edit to conform with forum rules

(edit for typo g ->bg)
