What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning all. Fbs today was 9.0. A welcome refreshing breeze this morning. Feeling frustrated as my foot has healed well enough to attempt the first group walk in a while and then this morning another outbreak of IBS/ Diverticulitis means I cannot risk it! Oh well- maybe next time? Have a good day folks. :)

5.4 at 04.00 today. Got to bed at 01.00 so that's another 3 hour night. Doing well.

It's bright, sunny and warm today. Is this summer at last? Forecast says it's currently 16C and humid with a very light breeze right now. Due to rise to 20C, slightly stronger breeze and even higher humidity by mid afternoon.

Good morning all. fbs this morning was 12.7 but not taken until after my shower so maybe Adrenalin had already had its affect? Just got home from an hour+ -long dental appointment to remove a large 50 year old filling and replace it with a new one including the repair of a large crack at the back of the tooth. A much bigger job than I expected! Needed 3 doses of anesthetic injections. I'm glad it has been done to prevent future problems but it is not something I'd like to make a habit of! Paracetamol is needed now as the anesthetic is wearing off. :arghh: Best wishes.:)

I just bought 2 data CDs from the Bucks Family History Society and was keen to see if they have the data that I need for my family tree but they don't work! I asked Neil to see if he could get them to work but it appears that my almost new CD player has failed. I'll send it back to Amazon for a replacement (with luck) and meantime will just have to possess my soul in patience. Not easy for me to do. I always wanted to get things done yesterday and as my time gets shorter, so does my patience.

When I was still teaching, I put a sign up beside my desk, for students and staff to see. It said: "My patience was legendary. Now it is a myth!"

Legs day today but I'm still feeling a bit grotty. Ah well - just get on with it.

EDIT: Back from town. Blood test and ECG results not available yet. Wonder what the delay is. Comfortably warm in my new jacket (had to get a new one to go round the ever expanding me) but overcast and spits of rain in the air. Temperature is around 15C. Slight breeze - must have been stronger during the night - some of my pot plants are over and some shifted considerably to new positions (one on the path below its normal placeBo or no

5.6 at 03.00 today.

Legs very sore, after removing the bandages yesterday for the podiatrist to get to my feet. Amazing how much they've swollen in just one day. They're not really supporting me very well either but I'm managing to get around using my 2 sticks.

Actually plucked up courage to weigh myself this morning. Needed courage because I didn't want to confirm what I was pretty sure of - weight gain! Worse than I thought. I've put on 21/2 kilos! :arghh::arghh::arghh:

Back from town - no shopping done. The Scenic let us down. Total electrical failure. We had to leave it with a garage and get a taxi home without doing any shopping, or going to the electrical store to look for my new fridge. Me getting into that taxi was worthy of a Brian Rix farce. :joyful: I couldn't get my legs to bend sufficiently to get into either the front or the back seat. Neil had to lift each leg high enough to get my feet over the door sill and bundle me in unceremoniously. It may just be the alternator that has failed, or even just the alternator belt, but it may be something much worse. Time will tell. Just as well it's a diesel engine, not an electric one, or we wouldn't have got to the garage. :smug:

4.0 at 03.00 today. Had breakfast without insulin and it is still only 5.4.

Sore, sore, sore. Pills not helping. My legs were massive by the time I got to the clinic yesterday and very painful. Makes it clear how dependent I am on those bandages.

5.3 at 05.00 today. Late up, but then, I was working on my writing project until 02.00. I was doing another edit when I realized that, when I rewrote my chapter 3 (having overwritten it with chapter 4 by accident), I left out a whole section. It was important because it introduced 2 of my protagonists who, without the bit I'd lost, just appeared out of nowhere. So I had to try to remember what it had been originally. Not sure that I got it exactly right but the gist is there. Another editing job to do on that.

Trying to drill down into my brother's memory about family members for another writing project - stories from our family's past. This one not for publication but for Em. She may not be very interested at the moment but, she may, like me, wonder about these people in the future. If she does, it will be there for her. In a way, it is an unwanted diversion from my main project but in another way, it gives my imagination a necessary rest. The person under scrutiny at the moment is my Aunt Betty, my mother's sister. In a way, it also ties into my family history interest - the lady worked in the NAAFI for most of her life but finding information about that service is proving very difficult. So, if I can't find the information about her work, I am getting as much of her personal life as I can.

Good afternoon all. Fbs this morning was 10.9 Managed part of the group walk this morning followed by a walk around town. Now sitting in the garden in the shade of the trees drinking tea and recovering! Best wishes to you all for the week ahead.

5.9 at 04.00 today.
My visitor arrived this morning but by the time she got here, I had started feeling really awful. She stayed to make sure I was OK and, after a while, whatever it was passed and I started to feel better. Very odd hour, that was.
Anyway, the coffee cake was enjoyed and she took some of it away with her.
