Ooh, a place for my food diary! Brilliant! I do have Type 2 diabetes, but it is under control with metformin and also oral semaglutide from the Ascend Plus trial. I sometimes measure my FBG, but my practice doesn't prescribe it for people who aren't on insulin, so I have to self-fund. But it is interesting to do.... I didn't measure it this morning.

1 cup Lady Grey tea, no milk, no sugar

Overnight oats (made with oat milk) with chia seeds, various fruits, walnuts, a tablespoon of natural yoghurt and a teaspoon of honey. Inexact quantities as leftover from a family breakfast on Saturday - normally it is 1/4 cup oats, 3/4 cup oat milk, 1/2 tbs chia or flax seeds, and then fruit to taste....
Black coffee, no sugar, plus a rather nastily dry tangerine - would have juiced it, but it really didn't have any juice to speak of!

Lunch was a samosa, an onion bhaji, 1/2 small tin sweetcorn, a spoonful of chutney, followed by an orange givrée (sorbet inside an orange skin) and a handful of mixed nuts.

Mid-afternoon: 1 cup Earl Grey tea, no milk or sugar. 1 flat nectarine.

Pizza (Lid's best: semi-dried tomato and mozzarella; 1/4 of the packet - we had the first half last night) with salad.
Lidl's creme caramel

Later: 1 cup Earl Grey tea, no milk or sugar

Tuesday 11 August
FBG (I keep wanting to call it BFG!!!) 5.7
Exercise: 1.66 km walk; 3670 steps

07:30 Lady Grey tea, no milk or sugar

08:45 Overnight oats made with oat milk and milled flaxseeds; frozen fruit, natural yoghurt and a small spoonful brown sugar. Small glass orange juice. Black coffee.

13:00 Home-made gazpacho soup; 1/2 wholemeal pitta bread spread with paté and lettuce (also a tiny bit of butter on one side); 2/3 pain au chocolat. A few grapes.

Mid-afternoon: Earl Grey tea

19:00 ish: Pasta with a courgette sauce and pecorino cheese; natural yoghurt with a flat peach and 1/2 nectarine.

Later will be another cup of Earl Grey, and perhaps 2 squares of dark chocolate with hazelnuts. We shall see....
