Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

8.1 @ 8.10 am. It was 6.6 @ bedtime last night.
I am new to testing, the reading is higher than bedtime last night, is that ok?

Many of us experience a rise due to "dawn phenomenon", our livers kick in overnight sometimes if they think we are in need with not eating, it's annoying isn't it? How long do you go from last eating? Sometimes a low carb snack at bed can help

5.3 this morning....the mixed Humilog appears to be working....fingers and toes crossed....frosty morning here today ..wrap up warm all in the UK and remember the animals they too feel the cold..hugzzzz

Dinner was aroung 6.30pm. I had 1 babybell later not sure what time. Bed around 10.30 I dont sleep well havnt for years. I read until 1am

5.3 for me this bright and sunny, cold winter morning...although I ate my breakfast within 30mins of walking I could feel my liver spilling its guts... just off to see what horrible things it has done to my BS... Still at least its Friday, so tonight as a treat think I will have a couple of vodkas

I just realised that in the last two weeks I've had records for dinner preprandial (4.2), dinner +2 (5.0, last night) and fasting (4.8). The last few days all my +2s have been 6.0 or less.

Excellent news, especially with your HbA1c coming up. You will see that 40 before I do.

Now my Accu chek is playing up! If it's not one it's t'other. From tea time onwards last night it was registering higher than my batch 44.

6.4/6.1/5.9 at bedtime (Accu chek) and 5.7 (batch 44) all readings higher than normal
5.3 fasting (accu chek) and 5.7 (batch 44)

well I am off to DESMOND, don't know about it being educational but it should be entertaining at the very least from what I have read on here, will let you know how it goes......

Im going to Desmond course on 26th February.Hoping it will be good and educational and entertaining.It seems a long day from 9am to 4pm Im gunna be up at 6am that day and out the door at 7:08am.Hopefully it will be a good day

In theory yes but as we know our liver on waking says hey have some glucose for the day ahead....and bingo higher bs , millie can i ask , what did you eat yesterday ( from dawn to bed) no cheating!)

Have listed food etc. Any advice?

The porridge doesn't appear to have spiked you, but your fasting 8.1 was a high starting point. This will come down as you low carb.

Although a little whiskey induced I woke with a 4.2 this morning. (Maybe I have found a cure!!! I will test again tonight )
