Hi I heard something on T.V. last night , a warning about taking this product, which I take everyday, I also read that a type 1 shouldn't take it. Do you know anything?
But incidences of DKA that have happened with this drug may well be associated with insufficient insulin so obviously that puts Type 1s at risk if they don't inject enough (and of course insulin needs can vary from day to day)
This may also be the case with type 2 as it has occurred when people have an infection (so need to produce more insulin) or when they have reduced calories and or carbs and so are producing less insulin or indeed have actually been undiagnosed T1s.There might be other causes here too. *
