    Eat the rainbow!

I love the idea of a rainbow diet. All that fresh salad seems so appetising especially after the heavy Christmas food. Thank you Sue, fab post.

THANK YOU Father in Law AND Anthony Worrall Thompson!!!

Solly that made me howl with laughter!! Poor old AWT!!! I think I may get a copy. I am sure half the battle with staying on the wagon is to have a varied diet. Is pretty difficult to have an interesting low carb vegetarian diet, especially when you don't eat eggs!

    Now That Christmas Is Over

I gave myself three days "off". I havn't weighed myself. I have my annual check on 13 Jan and hope that being back on the plan for a few weeks by then will undo most of the damage. Damage limitation being the name of the game.

HB1AC- will it make any difference?

I am just hoping that the period of huge stress plus the horrid sinusitis I had for three weeks won't add to it. I know from my own testing that I was running a fair bit higher through that period. I am very fortunate, my GP really does listen to me and believes that as an intelligent adult I...

HB1AC- will it make any difference?

I have pretty much stuck to plan apart from Christmas eve to boxing day. Just a shame it was just before my test... It won't take much of a rise for my GP to put me on metformin. She was in two minds last time.

HB1AC- will it make any difference?

Thanks H, was kind of what I was hoping for. I intend to stave off the meds for as long as possible. Even if I did rather over celebrate Christmas. I don't suppose the red wine I washed it all down with will redeem me either!

HB1AC- will it make any difference?

Hi folks, My annual review is due. In my haste to avoid taking time off work I have booked to have my bloods done tomorrow morning when I am off work. It being Christmas I have relaxed my diet very much so this week ( I gave myself three days off. I have indulged in my first roast spuds all...

THANK YOU Father in Law AND Anthony Worrall Thompson!!!

Does it have much in the way of quick meals in the book? Working long hours I need meals that are quick and simple.

    Self Imposed Dietary Restrictions

Brilliant post. I agree with you as well. I am aiming to stick to it 90% of the time. The other 10% well a little of what you fancy does you good!! I also agree that my diabetes is probably a bad combination of lifestyle and genes. But it is too late for us to worry about that. What we can do is...

    What motivates you?

Two things. Most importantly, my son (four today) having his Mum around and in good health as long as possible. The second thing isn't very nice. I work with a fellow t2, she is about ten years older than me. She walks with a stick and has recently had a nasty ulcer on her legs. She does not...

In praise of Health Care Professionals.

I didn't realise how few of you there are Ally. Now that is a disgrace, because dieticians must really be on of the frontline resources that are preventative medicine. As my Gran used to say "a stitch in time saves nine". I saw one at my half day diabetes 2gether course and that is it. I would...

    What are you reading?

I think I might ask the big man in red in my annual letter. I have been a very good girl this year. Ish.

    What are you reading?

There is a series of Terry Pratchett books called Nightwatchmen, or something similar. Has anyone read them and are they page turners? Not read Pratchett for years.
