ABBOTTS : Has anybody had TERRIBLE customer service from this company?

I haven’t had any problems using abbot’s form to replace sensors. I have only had one sensor fail in the last year, it came off whilst I was in a hot country. Abbot replaced it promptly.

    Deliciously Guilt Free bakes

I like them. I find that if I warm them in the microwave and serve with cream it gets rid of any gritty/sweetener taste. The bakewells are lovely.

    Low Glucose Events - LibreLink

If some of the lows are when you are sleeping it is possible you could be lying on the sensor. That will give a false low. The only way to be certain if that is the case is to test with a meter when you get the low alarm.

    Semaglutide for obese unemployed

The uk government have suggested that prescribing people mounjaro will get them back to work. Seems unlikely to me. At the same time my gP diabetic nurse wanted to prescribe it to me but hospital diabetic nurse says no as my bmi is only 28.

    Sandwiches

It’s hard to make suggestions without knowing what you like but I would take a lunchbox with a mixture of some of the following cheeses, ham, continental cooked meats, eggs, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, tuna, smoked salmon, cold cooked salmon. I might make tuna mayo, or egg mayo, and take salad...

blood sugars- what things can trigger it?

If I’m reading this right it’s 10% orange juice so this will contain some naturally occurring fruit sugar. Sucralose is also a sweetener which raises my blood sugar.

    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

Can you link to those studies please. How does it improve insulin sensitivity? Have you tested this with your meter or cgm? I have to say my body didn’t get the memo…..proper bakery sourdough is not much better than any other bread.

    Absolutely tired and hopeless

I would say protein and fat are important. Hard for us to answer without knowing what is cheap in your country. but perhaps eggs or cheese, butter. Veg for soup. Here frozen veg is cheapest and still nutritious.

    Obtaining Medical Records Advice

Just a thought but when I moved gps 5 years ago the practice told me I couldn’t use my old access and had to sign up again. I think they said the patient access login was in some way related to the surgery.

    Type 1 Type 2 diabetes

Hi and welcome. when you say you’ve tried everything, what do you mean? Have you tried other medication? What does your mother generally eat? Has she tried changing what she eats? it would be good to know her last few hba1c results as Kenny says.

    Gliclazide and Driving

Yes, Gliclazide can cause hypos and therefore it is a requirement to test before you drive, and to carry your meter with you.

Low carb cost and budget tips 2024

Not a low carb hack…but we bought a dual drawer air fryer nearly two years ago. We use it 6 days a week (on the 7th day my non low carb husband insists on pizza, which won’t fit!) instead of the big oven (including roasting that chicken), and I calculated it saves us £20 a month.

Low carb cost and budget tips 2024

I buy a medium chicken, it feeds two of us for two or three days (roast, cold, curry), then I boil the carcass with herbs, onion, garlic, pepper. Strip any last bits of chicken off the carcass into the stock. Then add any left over leaves from cauliflower, any old low carb veg and chuck it in...

    Going cold turkey!

I don’t know if this will help but when I started low carb I made a list of meals I could have and I’ve added to it since. I find an air fryer really useful for quickly cooking meat/sausages with minimum fuss, but of course they can be oven cooked as well. I often batch cook things like chicken...

    Low Carb Ready meals

The low carb food company sell some online but I haven’t tried them. https://lowcarbfood.co/collections/ready-meals i have occasionally bougot a fish bake from Lidl which was low in carbs, or a prawn curry from M & s and added a low carb roti. Also M & s have a selection of bbq meats which are...
