    Night duty

I work in a nursing home and its heavy, grueling work. I work 4 12 hour shifts per week. Occasionally if I'm on annual leave I'll take on a night duty for some extra money or to help out if they are short staffed. I do struggle but I only take them on if I've a few days to recover or if they are...

    I'm terrified...

Again after 5 years on waiting list I'm extremely thankful to be approved for a pump. I hate to come to you all with my concerns as I know many of you've fought hard for yours. But I'm terrified. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I cant continue as I am, either getting up...

    Reassure me please..

Thank you all for your input <3 I think I'm going to go for it! My gut is telling me to. And if I can manage it through a stressful period well that'll set me up for the future. It's a Medtronic minimed I think? In my local trust they only do that one. From what i see they look quite bulky?

    Reassure me please..

I also just want to add I'm incredibly grateful to be getting the pump I hope my post doesn't make it seem like I'm not. I wanted to ask quickly if there was any books re pumping I should purchase?

    Reassure me please..

I'll start by saying I'm a natural worrier so I may be making a big deal out of this! I've been diagnosed 10 years now. On Fiasp and Levimer mdi. My issue is dawn phenomenon and after trying everything was told the pump was only way to try and manage it. I just received the phone call this...

    Fiasp v novorapid

Hi all! I was previously on novorapid for 10 years then I was changed to fiasp as I was very insulin resistant in the morning. I was needing to take my novorapid 45-60mins before breakfast so we thought fiasp might be an alternative. My bgs have been like a rollercoaster since the change and...

    Fitbit and librelink

I've seen lots of diabetics on Instagram using an apple watch to view their bgs through librelink. I'm an android user and was wondering if anyone has used a fitbit to do the same? I've been thinking on investing for monitoring my sleep and steps but if it was able to link to the librelink app...

    Can't get back in control..

We went through ivf this year and with that to focus on my control was spot on 6% having come down from 8% last year. I didn't feel it was a struggle. But the ivf failed at beginning of August and I've really let myself slip into bad habits. My predicted a1c according to the Libra app is now...

    Gluten rash?!

Thank you for your reply! I did just Google lupus and I don't have any of the symptoms and the rash doesn't look similar but it also doesn't look similar to any of the Google images of a gluten rash! Perhaps I'll visit my doc after all..

    Gluten rash?!

I was symptomatic of coeliacs for about 2 years now. Bloating, fatigue, brain fog, nausea, aneamic, constipation, diarrhoea the list could go on. Anyway my blood test came back negative and I refused the colonoscopy (I just cannot go through with it). I seen a kinesologist who said I came up as...

    Libra Placement

I'm going to be bridesmaid in a few weeks and I'd rather not have my sensor on show (I usually don't care but this is personal preference for my friends wedding pics). I'm considering leaving it off for a few days and using my meter. But also considering placing it on my thigh or abdomen. I...

    Reduce Metformin Or Reduce Insulin

Yeah the metformin was added in as the insulin resistance seemed to be a side effect of the hormonal meds.

    Reduce Metformin Or Reduce Insulin

Hi there. I have recently completed a cycle of ivf which unfortunately was not successful. Throughout I attended the pre pregnancy clinic every 2 weeks. The medications I took for the ivf understandably made me hormonal and affected my blood sugar in mad ways. One of the things we did was to...

    Hot Weather Issues!

I'm having the same problem with this heat wave. Taking bad hypos especially in the evening. Keeping the curtains closed as someone previously said definitely helps keep the house a bit cooler and try reducing your basal a bit. X

    Metformin Sickness

Oh no [emoji17] we are due to begin our ivf cycle in 5 weeks. My hba1c is 57 at the moment so it's just to tighten my control as much as possible. I'll give it a bit of time.

    Metformin Sickness

Yes I thought it was most likely that but wasn't 100% sure. Just wanted to put as much information as I could into my question [emoji5]

    Metformin Sickness

I'm type 1 and as past 3 years have taken metformin 500mg once daily with breakfast to help with insulin resistance in the morning. We are now trying to get hba1c lower for pregnancy so my pre pregnancy nurse has upped the metformin to twice a day. I feel so ill with it. Diarrhoea maybe twice a...
