    Eye infection and diabetes

Hi all, I've had an eye infection since 8th December. It has cleared up once and returned 5 days later. I'm being monitored daily at hospital but wondering if this is T2 related. It's herpetic keratitis. I just don't seem to be able to heal.

    High sugars Post walk

Hi. Utterly confused. I tested 4.3 tonight bebore dinner. Then ate a roast pork dinner with 4 roast pots, veg and gravy. I took 1000mg of metformin. Admittedly, it was a good size dinner. After it, I went for a 30 minute quick walk. When I got back, I tested and was 10.2. Never experienced...

I had a telephone conversation Tuesday of this week with DN who says...

    Results are in HBA1C

Hi everyone, I have been so quiet of late - felt like I needed to focus on so many things and just so little time. Well, my journey ... I was diagnosed 3rd June (on my 48th birthday) and was very shocked - I think I spent 2 weeks crying! Not sure why I was so shocked as I should have seen it...

    Diabetes T2 and liver issues

Hi all, Quick question, what is the exact relationship between T2 diabetes and problems with the liver? On diagnosis my bs were 86, but liver function completely normal which I know is a good thing. Just intrigued. I thought the 2 went hand in hand. I'm very curious to know how I can have a...

    Gliclazide

Hi. I'm a T2 and was diagnosed 3 June and put on 2 x 80mg of Glic. I'm 5.3 and was 10.2. Now lost a stone from low carbing. I never took the Glic. I felt it was too dangerous for me. My levels were 86 at diagnosis and 6 weeks later were 60 just from diet changed. I then agreed to take...

What are our readings supposed to be?

Thank you for replying. I was a bit nervous so I ate 2 x rich tea biscuits and a slice of cheese. I probably didn't need to do this then. I'm on the Lchf way of eating since diagnosis 3 months ago and it's my preferred way of eating now. Mind you, I did walk up and down the garden for 10 minutes...

What are our readings supposed to be?

Hi everyone, My readings have suddenly dropped since I introduced my final 500mg of Sr metformin. Not heard a thing from gp. Tbh, don't think they're interested and never told me what my 'target' would be. My before breakfast bs are about 5.5 and before meals now about 4.3 to 4.7. Is this too...

    LCHP and Metformin

Thank you. I didn't take Gliclazide. I started metformin 6 weeks in when levels got to 60. This was consultant advice as no other advice other than to take Gliclazide from my gp. Do people come off metformin if levels go into remission?

    LCHP and Metformin

Hi, I'm reading your post and it's giving me hope. I'm T2 now for 10 weeks and started at 86, after 6 weeks of lchf diet.... 60 and no meds. At this point I'm persuaded to try metformin. I do wish I had done another 6 weeks of diet now. Wondering if people can stop taking metformin. Not sure if...
